Our androids sent and received text messages on Norwegian just fine. Our first Celebrity cruise isn't until next year, so I couldn't say there.

With TMobile no roaming in some 175 countries for Data and texting.

When MIL fell Celebrity provided us with daily free phone call.

I have an Android phone. Last month, on Constellation, it was in airplane mode and connected to the ship's WiFi. I was able to send and receive texts with no problems.
