Antarctica, which cabin?

Recommended Posts

We are looking at an 11 day Antarctica and wondering which cabin would be best. Is a balcony to cold for most days so a Horizon cabin with drop down window better? Would love to hear your experience and if you had one and wished you had the other or would book the same again.

I feel like the standard balcony is the way to go. That's what we had. We could pop out onto the balcony when there was something to see. With the horizon balcony, if you want to take a photo you need to open the window, which will then cool down your whole room.

Did you feel one side of the ship might be better than the other?

There is no better side since each cruise is different. You never know your destination until you are there. Captain's choice!!!!

The ship is so small that you can access port or starboard views from a public area pretty quickly from whichever cabin you’re in.

It is cold (especially when windy) so you wouldn’t really be outside for too long for any single spell.
