pseudoware Posted May 2 #1 Share Posted May 2 Hi, we'll be flying to Singapore and are looking for a convenient hotel for a one (maybe two) night stay, along with transportation suggestions from the airport and then to the cruise port the next day. A centrally-located hotel close to food, shopping, fun stuff to do, etc. would be great, but idiot-proof access to transportation (public or otherwise) and our destinations is our top priority :) Thanks! Rare Miaminice Posted May 8 #2 Share Posted May 8 @pseudoware Hotel Andaz Singapore for luxury Pan Pacific for a very good hotel within a medium price range The Scarlett for a boutique hotel We have also done the Marina Bay Sands to check it off our bucket list. Nice but impersonal mass processing. If you haven´t been to Singapore before, be sure to make it two nights. Singapore is fantastic. Don´t worry about transport!!! Taxis in Singapore are incredibly inexpensive. The ride from the airport to the city is just around USD 20. The MRT is also very inexpensive. There are stations everywhere. I highly recommend using the Grab App (the uber of Asia). You can also use it to pay in the Hawker Centers. If you stay in the city the ride to the cruise terminal will probably under USD 10. Maybe our travelogue helps. We started this cruise from Singapore. https://boards.cruisecritic.co.uk/topic/2980155-celebrity-solstice-12222023-thailand-vietnam-liveish-report/ 2
pseudoware Posted May 8 Author #3 Share Posted May 8 Thank you @Miaminice! Very helpful. Yes, definitely considering two nights. And thanks for the trip report, that looks awesome!
Rare little britain Posted May 13 #4 Share Posted May 13 @pseudoware taxis in Singapore plentiful and very cheap. Avoid Marina Bay Sands as huge, impersonal, and far from anything unless you like shopping centres with faux Venetian canal! Recommend Telegraph Hotel right in Lau Pa Sat and easy walk to China town. Scarlett is boutique hotel little closer to Chinatown. DAO by Dorset is great hotel, rooms have kitchen area with washing machines - just a few mins walk further from Telegraph.

Our cruise next year disembarks in Singapore and unfortunately due to time constraints we will have to fly out the same day. Flight isn’t until 11.00 pm so we will have a few hours to have a look around, so would welcome any suggestions for a whistle stop tour, plus, what can we do with our bags before going to the airport? Thanks in advance for any help.

Rare Over from NZ Posted May 22 #7 Share Posted May 22 As others have said.. taxis are plentiful and inexpensive to/from the airport/port. Singapore is very small.. but so much to do! Most Hotels are central and the MRT is an exceptional and easy way to get around the city. Stay at least 2 nights if you can.

Rare Miaminice Posted May 23 #9 Share Posted May 23 Both… but if you fly with a major airline - highly recommend Singapore Airlines - you’ll probably be able to check it in early.

Can you find a cheapish hotel where you can freshen up before the flight? Drop luggage at hotel in the morning; sightsee; go back to hotel around 3p at checkin time. Use the pool, eat early dinner, shower and leave for airport around 8p. Just a suggestion

Have used it with great results in Dubai, Saigon Vietnam, Buenos Aires, and will use it on upcoming trips in Trieste Italy and in Cape Town. We feel like we get an extra day of vacation by doing this.
