TOUR GUIDE TO DEVIL'S ISLAND

Hi everyone.  Will be on the Sirena in January stopping at the Amazon!  Also stops at Devil's Island, but Oceania doesn't have an excursion for that stop.  If anyone has been there and used a private guide, I'd appreciate if you would share.  Had planned to be there once before and had a private guide, but cannot remember the name - or if they are in business any longer.  Thanks.  Arlene    tanny5258@att.net

You really do not need a guide for Devils Island . It is quite small and very well signposted with multiple explanations on all of the buildings.  There are 3 main trails one is quite gradual the others are more difficult and remember it is very hot and humid so take your time and wear suitable footwear as the steps can be slippery and carry lots of water

We have been there twice on Oceania, there is a restaurant in the shade, (mostly drinks) a shop very pricey. Anchored out, a bit of a hill to walk up but nice and shady, very hot and you wander around the prison buildings.

Interesting birds, flowering trees and little animals running around that I have never seen before.

Enjoy. There are no tours.

Was recently talking about our trip to this fascinating place many years ago on Royal Princess (then one of the R ships). One of the most memorable days we've spent. Eerie and so interesting. If that place could talk! Agreed, no guide needed.
