What is open in St. Martin French/Dutch side on a Sunday?

Recommended Posts

We will be in St Martin on a Sunday in Jan and have received conflicting info. I asked a tour operator who replied that that everything in Marigot will be open on a Sunday if cruise ships are in port. I have also read that everything is closed on Sundays in Marigot.

I am also curious about the Dutch side. Will stores be open in Phillipsburg?

  • 4 weeks later...

We were on the island a few weeks back on a Sunday.  Most everything was open, but not too early. We dipped onto both sides of the island during our day there, and things were really bustling.  When we first arrived, we walked around, and were able to hear lovely music floating out of a few churches.  Shops, etc., started opening up early/mid-morning.  Also, in case you are interested, we found the public buses to be a great value!  I hope this helps.
