Celebrity Millennium scheduled to arrive in Yokohama at 6:30 am on Sunday, April 20, 2025.  We would be waiting on line and walk off with luggage once ship is cleared.  Is it possible to go thru customs and get to Haneda in time to take an 11:00 am flight back to the states?

Thanks

For me it would spoil the last day stressing about it. Assuming you disembark at 7.30, get through queue to immigration, wait in queue for taxi, (let's say an hour) drive to Haneda (40 minutes) and then check 2 hours? in advance then it won't work.

We had a 9:40am flight, admittedly after spending several days in Yokohama.

We arrived at the airport 3 hours early for the flight and only had 30 mins by the time we cleared everything.

The airport is huge, lines are huge. Everything moves but the volume of people is amazing.

just our experience.

We were looking at the same situation for our preferred JAL flight after our cruise next May. Unfortunately, we have decided that it is just too stressful to take a chance. Perhaps if the ship was docking at 4 and we could get off at 6, then we would try. But docking at 6:30 and not being sure when we could depart the ship and get ashore, problems with getting a taxi, insane traffic on a Monday morning, etc., so we will take an alternate flight in the afternoon. Travel is already stressful enough without putting more stress on ourselves.

I did want to add, though, that if anybody DID have a flight this early and found a way to make it work, we would love to hear from you! Thanksl

Keep in mind that Japan is not one of those places, like Italy, where you can simply get your luggage and walk out of the port.  There will be a Passport check, and it is impossible to predict how fast the authorities will move folks along their way.  Assuming you can get through the authorities, without much delay, a taxi (or pre-booked transfer) should get you to Haneda in less than a half hour, on a Sunday.

If you are looking for a guarantee, "forget about it!"  Under normal circumstances you should be OK, but delays (in arrivals, dockings, dealing with the authorities) do happen.  If it were us, we would plan on spending the night in Yokohama (we do like that city) or even more days in Tokyo.  Consider you could go to a nearby hotel. drop your luggage, and perhaps grab a train to Nara, take the train/metro into Tokyo, or just spend a nice day in Yokohama (China town is fun for lunch).

If you are not used to dealing with the various Japanese authorities, we can tell you that they are always polite (and even friendly).  But they do things according to their own pace, and that can sometimes leave folks shaking their heads.  Efficient, yes, but that can also mean delays as they go through their "procedures."

Speaking from experience, on the Millennium, in Yokohama in 2019, this is a horrible idea. Debarkation was slow (Japanese officials are nothing if not thorough), and the line for taxis was 30-45 minutes long. It was absolutely one of the worst debarkations of my life (and I've gotten off the ship multiple times at the Manhattan cruise terminal in NY).
