got an upgrade that was advertised on travelocity for a guart. balcony that carnival honored, after it went thru i went to carnivals site to check on my account and it shows our cabin # which is at the back of the ship but no guar. for the balcony (i know they can't give us less than what we paid for)should i keep this cabin assignment or call back and speak to the supervisor who we went thru for the upgrade and have this corrected? i know there is always the poss. for an upgrade no matter what, but the cruise is almost sold out and if there is a poss. for an upgrade because of the guarantee should i take it. i hate having to be more of a p.i.a than i was this morning trying to get carnival to honor travelocity's price. What to do..

I'm not sure what you are saying. You paid for a balcony gty but on the web site, your cabin assignment is not a balcony? If that is the case, yes, I'd call them back right away. If your complaint is that your balcony cabin is in the back of the ship... well, that's the chance you take when you book a guarantee. When is your sailing? Since you booked today, then immediately checked your cabin, maybe they just didn't have time to make the change yet.

According to a different thread you mention that you found out they assigned you 6416. That is a balcony cabin on the upper deck aft. I would say that is a great location. We love being aft and always select our cabin towards the back of the ship. Bear in mind that even though they have you in this cabin at the moment it could all change. They could still move you to a higher deck. It's all apples to oranges though. There is nothing wrong with the location that you have right now. If that is where you end up I think you will be pleased.

it is a balcony, however i wanted the gty so that there would be a better chance of being located on a higher deck or even a suite. and with a gty we don't get our cabin # until we get there.

You do have a gty if you did not pick the cabin. They have to assign sometime and if the cruise is about sold out they probably started to assign the gtys. You have a great location and they may still move you unless your docs give you that cabin.
