Spirit AA Owners Suite ?'s

Recommended Posts

This question is for those who have stayed in the Spirit AA Owners Suites. I am booked in an AD (right next store) for our July cruise. I'm working on (and on the list for) an up-sell to an Owners Suite, if they are still available. For those who have been in one, is it worth the up-sell? What extra perks, treatment, special things, etc. Any info will be appreciated. Is it worth the extra money to bump up to next store to where we are booked now. Also, any photos you can share will also be appreciated. Thanks so much:)

Thanks so much for the info, Electricron. However, the info and photo you posted is for the forward AB suites on deck 10. There are only 2 AA Owners Suites on the Spirit. Both on aft deck 9. I appreciate the info, however.

I have been in the AA suite! We were offered an upgrade to this for a BARGAIN, but my husband took the call, wasn't sure what to do, called me to ask, and it *presto* it was gone by the time he called back........ we did get into the AC penthouse suite (10th floor)... and we met the people who had been upgraded to AA (owner suite) on our Spirit cruise, had a drink in this lovely suite with them.........

I will say that I was completely delighted with the AC suite, it surpassed my expectations. It was beautiful, tasteful, lovely, and the bathroom was incredible, I especially loved the jacuzzi tub with the wall to ceiling glass window.... The owners suite was larger, had a formal dining room, and was more luxurious. It also included 3 bottles of liquor. Apart from that, I believe all of the amenities were the same.... I can't comment on the AD suite, it looks a little smaller on the floorplan, hard to tell

I was a first time cruiser and really was visited by the upgrade fairy! Only problem is I may never go back to a regular cabin, which might mean I never cruise again!

Enjoy!

I booked the owners suite for the 7-8-06 sailing. I think 9208 is my room but I'm not sure. I have the same questions you do. Everyone says it's a great room.. what sailing are you going on? If it's not the same week I will give you some info when I get back.

diesldood; I'm currently booked in the suite next to you, 9710, for 7/22. I'd love to hear from you after you return.

Several months ago a nice young lady posted a review on the Spirit. Her and her mother sailed in the Owners Suite. It may have been before it got to NYC, maybe. Anyway, it was a great and informative review. She also posted some teriffic pictures of the suite. I can't find that review to save my life. I've been searching for 2 days. I'd love to read it again and see those pictures.

Has anyone else out there stayed in this suite? Is it worth the up-sell?

:D CRUZFVR.....Thank you so much for the post w/your link to the pictures of 9708 and 9710. My fiancee' (DIESLDOOD) and I have been searching for pictures (personal pictures) of these 2 rooms! We are booked in 9708 and my brother and his family in 9710 for our upcoming cruise in July!

The pictures are great and we're really psyched to be able to have the rooms right next to each other. We're traveling with 28 friends and family, and I'm sure we'll be "command central" for cocktail hours during the cruise.

Did you enjoy the deck space? I have not seen any pictures of the deck and am curious just how big it really is.

We're planning to host a sail away cocktail party for everyone, and hope that between the 2 suites, we'll have enough room for everyone, as well as deck space to hang out on.

Another question for you is.....do the partitions that are on the decks open between the 2 suites?? I've heard conflicting answers.

Thanks for all your help.......this is really exciting!!

LOGCABIN.....I'm responding to your post to DIESLDOOD (my fiancee'; or should I say...next victim!!:D ). We are booked in 9708 for the July 8th sailing on the Spirit and would be happy to give you an update on the room you're booked in, which is the same room my brother and his family will be staying in. My sister-in-law is quite savvy with a digital camera, so, I'll have her take pictures and post them for you.

Based on the pictures posted by CRUZFVR, the rooms look awesome!!!

Thanks, Crusinkat. I look forward to seeing them.. Oh, and take care of our suite, huh.

Cruzfvr: Thanks for the photos. My real question is about extra perks. Did you get extra perks with the Owners Suite? I've read threads about a wireless phone that connects direct to the conceirge that you can carry around the ship with you, free internet in the suite, 3 bottles of alcohal and all the free water, soda, juices, etc. I've heard that there's also a laptop in the Owners Suite, you are personally escorted to a reserved spot in the theatre each night, etc. Granted, some of these are on other NCL ships. Did you get these extra perks on the Spirit? I'm currently booked in the suite right next door. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth the cost of an up-sell, if there's enough extra perks and pampering... Thanks for your help.

The "partition" between the two cabins does not open. We saw where it did open before, but they closed it off. The balcony was nice, not huge, but suited us just fine. We really like the fact that in the AA we could open the window from the jacuzzi tub and go out to the deck. Kind of like having your own little hot tub on your balcony.

As for the extra perks...We did not receive a wirless phone that connects to the conceirge, but she was very east to get a hold of when we needed to. We had Lisa, and she is wonderful! We did get three bottles of alcohol of our choosing (ended up giving our butler two of them), and free water, soda all during the cruise for the asking. We also got "treats" each night delivered to us, and we were escorted to the front of the line (first to view, and get the treats) for the Chocolate Buffet, which was nice. No laptop in the room, so no free internet.

The suite next door is wonderful, too. It is just a tad smaller, really, We would be extremely happy to be in either cabin. We have an AB booked for our June cruise, because the AD's were sold out, and the AA does not have room for a third person

**For everyone sailing from May 14 to July 22, please say hi to our son, Garrett, who will be the sax player in the band! ;)

Hope everyone enjoys the Spirit as much as we did! ~Debbi

Congratulations to your son! I remember your saying something about this in your review a few months ago. I have looked at your pictures of suite 9710 many times lately since I just took an upsell to this suite for the 5-28 sailing. I really can't wait, especially since I teach school and this week is our state mandated testing week so time will drag by.

I think you may be thinking of the review by cruiser82

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=268104&highlight=spirit+review

She also had pictures on webshots with scans of a lot of the documents that came with the suite perks: VIP tender tickets, letters from the butler and concierge, etc. That url is

http://community.webshots.com/user/cruiser8282?action=publicAlbums

Her user name there was cruiser8282, in case you need to search.

hope this helps,

electricron~Our son was in the talent show during the Christmas sailing, but he did not win. The Band Director liked the way he played, and asked him what he was doing over the summer. So...long story short, he is working for 10 weeks during his summer break from college. He will be 20 years old in May, and we are so excited for him. And, it's a great excuse for another cruise, right?

jkoliver! Thanks so much for the congrats. You are going to love the suite, and the ship. Have fun!

WOW!!!:D Thank you to all of you for your feedback regarding the Owner's Suite!! Especially, the last post by JKOLIVER with the links to that young lady's review and pictures of the suite on Webshots!! That's awesome. The Webshots pictures showed the balcony, which I was in search of. She also got some shots of the room that I have not seen yet. So, I'm really psyched! I have a good idea of what to expect!

CRUZFVR.....what a bummer the partitions don't open!! We were really hoping that wouldn't be the case. There's so many people in our group and we have the 2 adjoining suites like you had, and we wanted to be able to squeeze everyone out on the decks for our sail away. We'll host a cocktail party anyway, but, really wanted to have both decks accessible for all. Oh well........there are bigger problems in the world!!

You just can't beat this website for getting the information one needs for cruising!

Thank you everyone for all your help!

OK, so I'm now looking for opinions... For those who have stayed in the AA Owners Suite and those who have had both suites.... Would it really be worth the extra money to bump up from the AD Penthouse Suite to the next door AA Owners Suite? Is there really "extra perks" or just the same perks as we will have in the AD? What's the general feeling out there? HELP>>> I'm so confused:)

I would have chimed in earlier on this thread but I was having problems posting. I'm so glad people have found my review and/or pictures helpful because I definitely spent many hours here prior to our cruise doing research based on the information other posters provided (my mom thought I was obsessed) so I'm happy I've been able to help other people.

As far as the extra perks, we received neither the cordless phone nor the laptop but we did receive the three bottles of alcohol, a bottle of champagne and unlimited evian/pellegrino and soda. I don't think I would book this suite just for the perks because I think the penthouse suites offer basically the same perks as the owner's suites on this ship and are a similar size. However, we do enjoy staying in suites and would book this suite again, although I would NOT pay full price. We got a great price from our TA on our AB so we were already paying well under the brochure rate and any rates I saw online, so when I got the call about the upsell I decided to treat us to it.

I think I touched on this in my review but I felt the balcony let down the rest of the suite. Perhaps we were a bit spoiled having just come off an AE on the Pride of America a few months earlier with its amazing balcony, but I felt the balcony was too narrow and the furniture was in desperate need of an upgrade.

If anyone has questions I'll try my best to answer them!

logcabin~ How much more $ is the AA compared to the AD? I really can't see spending more for it, but that is just my opinion. We did it once, and wouldn't do it again. The only perk you will get that the AD doesn't is the free booze. You will still get the butler, conceirge, and all that goes with a suite. The AD is almost as big as the AA. The AA has a separate little dining area, while the AD has the dining table/living room combo. Both suites are gorgeous!

It's your call..~Debbi

CRUISER82...I'm glad you found the thread. Now, I can thank you personally for your review and the pictures you posted on Webshots. THANK YOU! I've been searching the web for pictures of the Owner's Suite on the NCL Spirit, but, most of them are the same shots. You really covered a lot of what I was looking to see, i.e. the balcony.

My fiancee' and I will be staying in there on our upcoming wedding cruise in July and are really psyched to stay in a suite. It will be our first time staying in one.

You did a great job of covering everything!
