What happens to onboard credit if cruise is cancelled?

Recommended Posts

I have a cruise booked in September and I'm planning on using the advise on this board and have credit placed on my S & S account prior to sailing. Although I've cruised several times during hurricane season with no problems, anything could happen. If in fact the cruise is cancelled, does anyone know if the credit placed on the S & S account will simply be refunded to my credit/debit card or if I would have to request the refund?

If you paid the money & it was not used due to a cruise being canceled by the cruiseline, your money should be returned to you. Sounds like you are over thinking the what ifs. Go enjoy your cruise.

Actually, we have experienced this. Our parents had a cruise planned on the Conquest last year when the hurricane wiped out their trip We had purchased some shipboard credit for them. When they received their refund, the shipboard credit did not follow. We had to specifically ask for it, but once we did, it was immediately refunded!
