bonni99 Posted May 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 17, 2006 Hi- we have just returned from the Norwegian Odyssey cruise aboard the QM2 and we were on a guarantee basis and got cabin 4046- beware though- this is directly above the Royal Court theatre and during afternoon rehearsals and during both performances in the evening the noise and vibration in this room from the music playing was unbearable- i would liken it to staying above a nightclub in Ibiza- please check before you book a cabin that it is not around this area! We did complain at the Pursers desk on the 2nd day- and thank god we did- we were moved- and thankfully were spared the riot of noise that is Rock at the Opera. I do feel that this is a huge fault with these cabins- ther is no insulation and you can hear and feel all the music- I am 31 and my partner 34 so we ar not averse to music but this was plain unbearable! cruiserking Posted May 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 17, 2006 Phew, just noise from the Royal Court Theater. For a minute there I thought the ghost from 6065 had changed cabins, or even worse another uninvited entity had moved in. Cruiserking;)
bonni99 Posted May 17, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted May 17, 2006 I think I would rather have a ghost than the pouding music from the Theatre- it was truly awful-
pepperrn Posted May 17, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 17, 2006 it was truly awful- Was that in the room or sitting in the second row? (both, is my guess)

jcwalk19 Posted May 27, 2006 #6 Share Posted May 27, 2006 I'm worried now, we are in 4199 on guarantee basis on Ta 11August- just a few doors down. Might contact Cunard and see if they can do anything.
mariaemp675@hotmail.com Posted May 27, 2006 #7 Share Posted May 27, 2006 Have just checked the deck plans, and found your cabin is way toward the rear of the ship on the starboard side. You are over the Queens Room and possibly may hear the music from the disco G32, which is very close. Room 4046 is all the way forward on the port side. So although you probably won't be disturbed by the Royal Court Theater, the disco may give you some problems. Maria
