swom Posted June 20, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2006 Can anyone here tell me where I can purchase an international phone card to be used from Costa Rica? My niece is going there in a couple of weeks and needs one. I know this isn't a cruise question, but everyone here is so helpful, I would really appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks in advance!

Many of our local Mexican markets/Carnecerias here in California have International phone cards good for Costa Rica as well as other Latin countries. Hope this helps.
whogo Posted June 21, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 21, 2006 I have had good luck buying international phone cards from tobacco shops or news agents in the foreign country.

Maryandi Posted June 21, 2006 #6 Share Posted June 21, 2006 I bought from Sam's a regular AT&T phone card and when we go out of the country, I call the customer svce # on the back of the card. Give them the name (s) of the country (ies) to which you are going and they give you the 800# or country codes to call the US. I has worked everytime all over the islands, Central Am & Canada. The harder part is finding a phone that is not rigged to charge you their rates. Sometimes I would have to go pretty far intown or ask shopkeepers to find one. Good luck, M.A.
