Getting off CP in NYC

I am traveling on the CP in Sept. and I was wondering if Princess has self debarkation after the cruise? I haven't seen this on the boards (either I didn't look hard enough, or no one has asked) so I thought I would bring it up. On the last Carnival cruise I was able to leave the ship as soon as it was cleared by Customs; instead of waiting for my color to be called. Has anyone experienced this in NYC?

Don't think Princess will let you off the ship until your color is called.. Self debarkation will probably be color coded.

It was an option when I was on the Grand in February. You do have to haul your own luggage off the ship, but you can disembark as soon as the ship is cleared.

Iwas on the first princess arrival in brklyn on GP they had 3 groups for self debarkation i was at the b61 bus stop b4 8 am
