shofer Posted July 7, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2006 Celebrity is really advertising its new itineraries to Australia, etc on Mercury. I have read a lot on these boards about Mercury really showing its age and was wondering why they picked this particular ship of all of them to showcase a new destination? I would have thought one of the newer M class ships or even the revamped Century. Is there any gossip out there about Mercury getting a facelift? I would really like to take this new trip but was on Mercury to Alaska in 2003 and frankly would like to be aboard a different ship.

I phoned Celebrity Thursday to enquire about the 2008 re-positioning cruise back to Honolulu , (B2B from Sydney Feb 17th) The staff member I spoke with did say that Mercury was going in for a refit before going to Australia in 2007, she was unable to give any details other than it would be done. I have a hold on a cabin for the Feb 17th cruise, have a cabin price but no air fare yet as it is too early.
cruising diva Posted July 7, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 7, 2006 The Mercury is going into regular drydock the beginning of April 2007 but there will NOT be a refit before the trip to Australia in 2007. Hope this helps.
