First time cruisers going on the Majesty.

First time cruisers thinking about a trip on the Majesty to Western Carribbean? 4 adults and a 16 year old. Any suggestions?

You're asking a question that's almost too broad to answer. Since you're still only at the "thinking" stage about taking a cruise on the Majesty, it would be easiest for you to skim through these boards and read the many, many things that people have posted about the ship. I suspect you're not getting any responses because people don't want to repeat themselves.

I actually tried to reply twice, but couldn't. I think the Majesty would be an excellent first cruise. We sailed her at Easter this year. The staff was very good, and I liked the food. The ship is older, but has a lot of charm. Try to book staterooms that have "superior" in their names--they are much larger than the standard rooms.

 

It isn't a perfect cruise, but for someone new to cruising, it would be a nice introduction.

Thanks! I have read so many mixed things about the ship. Some give it postive reviews and others really complain. I guess it is all a matter of opinion. Would you go on the Majesty again?

We would absolutely cruise on the majesty again! It's a great little ship with the friendliest crew! I think it's a perfect first cruise experience. Enjoy the Majesty!

The Majesty was our first cruise in May 2002. We did the Boston to Bermuda cruise. All I can say is we were hooked. Have done that cruise 8 times and are plannig to go again in Oct. Yes it is a smaller oldr ship but she is well cared for and the crew is the best. It just feels like home each time we get back o board.

I'm a broken record on this one, but get the 16 yo to join the teen group. It may be lame or whatever, but it is a great way to meet other teens. We just got back and our teens (8 of them) hung out with each other sometimes, with friends they met and with both. It made for a great week.
