Leo Jay Posted August 4, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2006 Can someone tell me how much it costs to rent snorkeling equipment on Tortola? We're probably going to end up going to Brewer's Bay. I'm a little put off the idea of putting a rented snorkel in my mouth, so I'll probably buy at least that piece, but I saw a cheap set online for about $30, so depending on the rental cost, it might be worth buying the full set vs. renting. On the other hand, I don't even swim, so I don't think I'd even need the flippers included in the set. Just trying to figure out what makes more sense cost-wise. Thanks. zydecocruiser Posted August 5, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2006 I would guess about $5 for mask and snorkel and about $10 -$12 including flippers and snorkel vest. Here is a list of dive shops/guides, many with websites you could probably contact for more specifics and/or recommendations: http://www.bvitourism.com/dive-shops-and-guides
Pyrate13 Posted August 5, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2006 I think you might reconsider about not using flippers, especially as a non swimmer. I did this once and will never do it again. Should you get caught in any kind of current flippers will make it much easier to get around.
