hugger Posted August 25, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2006 Can someone who is familiar with the Veendam in particular give me a head's up on the electrical voltage. Will I need a wall adaptor to use the outlet? A voltage adaptor? We always carry a power strip with us - do we need more on this ship? Thanks all
2bout2c Posted August 25, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2006 A power strip is all i use. The single outlet at the desk is never enough.
sirarthur Posted August 25, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2006 In the large inside cabins, they have a standard plug over the dressing table. If you have many electrical devices you will need a power strip or, as I used, a small 3 plug adapter. The problem for me is that is no power near the bed and I must use a CPAP machine at night. Thankfully, I carry a long extension cord. I wonder why so few outlets?
dakrewser Posted August 25, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 25, 2006 There's also a 220v European-style outlet over the desk. Most things which use an A/C adapter can (either automatically or manually) be switched to use this provided you have an adapter. You could also use the 220v outlet with a transformer. JimVrhovac Posted August 26, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 26, 2006 There is only one on the desk that you can put a strip or triple outlet adapter into it to get more plugs. Ruth requires about 8 plugs and I need one for the cmera and one for the computer so we a considering taking a 3KW Generator on our next cruise. Can put it on the balcony. No restrictions in documents. Only problems is refillin the gas can and carrying an extinguisher. Would solve Ruth's problem. Jim & Ruth
