Ground transportation from FLL Cruise port to downtown Miami?

Does anyone have a recommendation, please? :)

We're doing a b2b, of sorts, disembarking Enchantment in FLL on a Saturday in October, staying overnight in Miami (downtown - Intercontinental Hotel) and boarding Freedom on Sunday.

Can't seem to find a reasonably priced way to do this other than walking.

I would look into a rental car. I know Enterprise offers a free shuttle from the Miami Hyatt 400 SE 2nd Ave to the port and I would think there would be a free shuttle in FLL to get you to their location there. Compact cars start at about $30 for the day, and you would then have a car to get around while in Miami for the night.

BTW We are staying at the Intercontinental April 2007, best rate I got was $150 per night, and I would think you could do better in Oct.

Happy Cruising

Taxi and limo services are common modes of transportation from Fort Lauderdale to Miami.

Taxis, Private Car/Limo, and Shared Ride are available outside terminal baggage claim areas throughout the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and the Miami International Airport.

Taxi fares are based on mileage and time and average about $70. Call Yellow Cab/Checker for further information (954) 565-5400.

Prices for private car and limo services vary depending on individual or shared-ride. Limo services are available through Larrys Limo http://www.larryslimo.com/, Broward Limousine (954) 791-3000, Elite Limousine (954) 733-9600, Tri-County airport limo (800) 497-5722, and Limousines of South Florida (305) 635-0088. Rates can range from $65-$125.

Tri-County Airport Express offers rides from the Greater Fort Lauderdale area to the Greater Miami area. Rides from the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood Airport to Miami Airport are $18 per passenger. Call (954) 561-8888 for prices on other destinations. SuperShuttle service from Miami Airport to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood Airport is approximately $24 per passenger. For additional SuperShuttle information, call (305) 871-2000.

Thank you all SO much!

signman - LOL! Yes, we used Priceline and "scored" the IC for $86! :D (You were right, WrenchHeadCruiser... October is cheaper.)

And it looks like now we'll be relocating that savings to cabbies, van drivers and/or a rental car company. :o

Oh and btw, my husband called C&A today for additional advice and they said that if we were doing a traditional B2B (same port) we'd have been eligible for free transportation and a FREE hotel room!

Unfortunately, they don't have a transfer available from the pier in Ft. Lauderdale to downtown Miami. We also complicated matters by booking only one of the two directly with RCCL. (A TA was offering $150 casino credit for us to switch our 2nd reservation and BOY will that come in handy, lol.)

Anyway, thank you all again! Very helpful!

Oops! Forgot to say which way we're leaning...

My DH's assignment today was to compare rates between Enterprise (thanks again, Wrench) and the FLL airport-shuttle-DT Mia option (thanks signman). And Bequia - thanks for the all-inclusive list of options!
