2boyzmom Posted September 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2006 Has anyone done this? We are cruising with Princess in February and don't want to spend $100 + pp to go to pinneys Beach on Nevis. We want to go ourselves.
MaryPoppinz Posted September 11, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2006 Mom2boyz, it's difficult to get this question answered -- the ferry schedules that I'm sure you've found posted in various places are conflicted and I'm sure some are outdated. I can't seem to figure out whether we will arrive in time to board the first ferry. No one seems to have tried this independently coming from a cruise ship and lived to post here about it. :) We may try this in November, and if I'm successful, I'll let you know. We do have a Plan B arranged in case we miss the ferry or we'll just use a local tour from the pier if all else fails.
MaryPoppinz Posted September 14, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 14, 2006 Our ship arrives at 8 a.m. on a Friday. :) I'm guessing the ferry dock is near the cruise ship pier?
MaryPoppinz Posted September 14, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 14, 2006 That's the problem I'm running into........that ferry schedule is over a year old. :(

KT32 Posted August 27, 2008 #7 Share Posted August 27, 2008 When we were there in March it seemed like the ferries were running very regularly - like every hour or half hour. I don't think you have to worry too much, just be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get back to the pier.
Alada2 Posted September 2, 2008 #8 Share Posted September 2, 2008 What great info. We will be docking in February '09 off the Grand Princess and are hoping to figure out how to get over to Nevis since we have been to St. Kitts twice before. Where do you catch the ferry and where did you see the schedules? Thnaks Don/Toledo, Ohio
paul58 Posted September 2, 2008 #9 Share Posted September 2, 2008 Here is the webpage for the ferry schedules: http://boatscheduleleytonms.com/index.php , The ferry dock is about a five-10 min walk from Port Zante.
paul58 Posted September 2, 2008 #10 Share Posted September 2, 2008 If that link doesn't work for the ferry echedule go to sknvibes.com and use the transportation link on the upper portion of the web page.
Islandbuoy Posted September 4, 2008 #11 Share Posted September 4, 2008 We've been to both S. Frigate beach on ST.K. and Pinney's on Nevis--they are comparable, unfortunately niether are that great. Not worth taking the ferry to Nevis for that reason. I'm looking @ getting to Anguilla , instead.
SKN FAN Posted September 5, 2008 #12 Share Posted September 5, 2008 I have enjoyed taking the ferry (Carib Breeze) to Nevis and spending the day at Chevy's Beach Bar. Keep in mind that ferry times are subject to change. Might be risky to do if you are on a cruise. You can also spend the day on beautiful Cockleshell Beach and visit Reggae Beach Bar or Lion's Beach Bar.
