kakalina Posted September 23, 2006 #26 Share Posted September 23, 2006 I was seriously injured on-board a HAL ship. I was on a RT Circle Hawaii and they flew me home from San Diego. Neither the Jones Act nor the fine were mentioned. Of course, I wasn't in any condition to think about it let alone question it at the time. Now I wonder if the ship paid it for me? RoseM Posted September 23, 2006 #27 Share Posted September 23, 2006 Glad to see some people not bashing HAL. The first cruise I took was to Alaska on the Statendam....The airlines lost my luggage..I did not have insurance with HAL. They issued me a credit (which they did not have to do) so I could get things I needed. Also checked with me every day to update what they were doing......they found my luggage sitting in a room at the Sacramento airport, it never got to the plane, argued with the airline to get it to the ship as soon as possible. It arrived in Juneau 2 and a half days later. I have not forgot their kindness.....and have sailed with them many times since.
