Sky Tower Restaurants Aukland NZ

We'll be in Aukland in Mar 2007 after our Princess cruise and would like to eat at one of the Sky Tower restaurants. Can anyone tell me about the Observatory and the Orbit? Which did you prefer? Is the Orbit more pricey than the Observatory? Thanks.

The revolving restaurant is called the Orbit and it is an a la carte menu.The Observatory is a buffet .

YES, book the ORBIT for the best dining view in town [it rotates] The meal is basically discounted by $20 as this is the charge to go up the tower without dining, so its a good deal. The Observatory is the cheaper buffett option. Need to book though, early seating time is best [6.30pm] as then you can watch the sun go down [depending on time of year] Regards Ian {tauranga]
