airborne Posted November 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2006 My husband and I went on our honeymoon on the Fair Princess in 1994 and it seemed to have dissappeared off the face of the earth.
Druke I Posted November 3, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 3, 2006 Fairly sure she was scrapped - but the search feature is not working the AM. I'm sure Host Doug, who is a wealth of information, will post something after he sees the thread.
dougnewmanatsea Posted November 3, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 3, 2006 Yes, sadly the old girl was broken up last year. I never sailed in her but she was a pretty ship. See here and here for more. She lasted 49 years, which is pretty good for a ship!
Druke I Posted November 3, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 3, 2006 I knew you would have the answer. Failed to mention in my post that I sailed on her, as Sitmar's Fairsea, 6-78, 10 nights North to Alaska, RT San Francisco. Nice ship in her day. tvaud Posted November 9, 2006 #5 Share Posted November 9, 2006 I knew you would have the answer. Failed to mention in my post that I sailed on her, as Sitmar's Fairsea, 6-78, 10 nights North to Alaska, RT San Francisco. Nice ship in her day. I sailed on her as well, when she was Sitmar's Fairsea, but on Mexican Riviera and Trans Panama cruises. In fact, I had the pleasure of sailing on her three times. The Italian service and incredible food were in a class all their own. I dearly miss all of the Sitmar ships.:(
Bucky3 Posted November 13, 2006 #6 Share Posted November 13, 2006 We sailed on the Fair Princess three times - b/b cruises from Hawaii to Tahiti and RT from San Francisco to Alaska. Fond memories!
chasetf Posted November 15, 2006 #7 Share Posted November 15, 2006 We sailed on the Fair Princess three times - b/b cruises from Hawaii to Tahiti and RT from San Francisco to Alaska. Fond memories! We sailed her sister the Dawn Princess on a 91 New Years cruise. We had a great time. Here is a picture of her I took in Cabo.
giggster11 Posted April 15, 2007 #8 Share Posted April 15, 2007 Sad to see a beautiful ship full of memories go away. I remember her from my first cruise in 87 to Alaska. Back when ships had one hallway down the center and you couldn't see the other end of it with the decks the way they were.
