cruise ship and holiday decorations?

Hello..

Thinking about going on a crusie around holidays....

Anyone been on a cruise over the holidays..Christmas and or New Years?

I would be greatful if you could tell me when they decorate and when they take them down...

 

Other questions....

Anyone know if they have past cruiser parties for 5 night sailings?

 

Does Carnival have cruise critic gatherings....

 

Do they have one captains gala...do different carnival ships do different things?

Last time I went on cArnival it was cool because they had things going on in different bars...a band a ochestra...a singer ..it was great...

We have been on two cruises over Christmas vacation and the ship has some decorations. We will be going again this xmas vacation on the Miracle.

I went on the Serenade of the Seas this past Christmas. For the most part, ship decorating begins during the week of Thanksgiving. Carnival does a nice job, but I think RCI's Christmas decorations were better.

We went on the RCCL Explorer of the Seas in December and the decorations were awesome. Beautiful poseettias up and down all the stairways and twinkling Christmas trees all over. Really a beautiful sight.

Went on Spirit for New Years. No decorations, but free party hats, buzzers, etc on New Years Eve Party. Free Champaign, had a great fireworks display at sea. Lots of fun would do again. Going on Conquest for Turkey day this year.

Carnival does not have cruise critic meetings..unless you meet and mingle with cruise critic people yu have met here online.

 

Past guest parties are held for cruises longer then 5 days.. according to their site. If that says that a 5 day cruise has one== I have no idea. I do know that 4 day cruises no not.

We sailed the Paradise the first week of December last year and it was decorated for Christmans. Very beautiful.:D

My husband and I usually cruise Carnival the second week of November and they usually are preparing to decorate for the holidays for the next cruise. Not sure when they undecorate.

 

Decorations include the usual wreaths with red ribbons and (I think) silver bells. It's pretty generic.

Can't answer all your questions, but DH and I went on a five-night cruies in Feb and they DID have a past guest party. Drinks and hors d'oeuvres were free. I don't remember which night it was held on, but I do remember that it was held between dinner hours. We had to eat and run in order to make it there; and the late diners had to drink and run in order to make the dining room.

Was on the Glory last year for their 12/27 New Year's saling and the christmas/Holiday decorations were still up on the day we left the ship.

Ship was beautiful and everyone was great, a lot more kids than I'm used too but most were very well behaved.

New Years Eve included Party Hats left by the cabin Steward, Special Dinner in the Dining Room with a special menu to take home, noise makers, champagne and a large screen with Dick Clark's Rockin New years Eve special shown on deck followed by a special Buffet in the Lido Deck Buffet (Red Sail).

Loved it so much that we're doing both the Christmas (12/21) and New Year's (12/29) sailings of the Legend this year...............waiting to see what ships get rearranged to where, and where the new ships will be going to start planning next years trip!

We were on the Imagination on a back to back in early November. We were there for my birthday on the 10th. They were putting the decorations up between to two cruises.

Well, I've been cruising during the holidays for a number of years now and this year is no exception. Will be on the Carnival Valor. It's a great way to spend the holidays!
