Jim, that's true. Actually, maybe they should have considered HAL because then the group would have had a whole ship and wouldn't need to worry about offending others, not that it appears they cared about that.

 

Actually RCI does have the "Empress of The Seas". She is relatively small by most standards. I think a charter of 1600 would pretty much fill her.:p

When I got older I moved up to being driven to school in his patrol car. That certainly got the attention of any potential boy friends!

Hey! My dad is retired CHP as well. He rode motorcycle, too. He was injured in 1966 chasing a speed. The speed got off the freeway, so did my dad. The speeder made the corner, my dad went down in the gravel. Ow. He never rode a motorcycle again but did eventually retire with 35 years. I also had rides on his motorcycle and went to high school by patrol car! My favorite story, though, occurred in college. I locked my keys in my car. I called my dad at work, and he and his CAPTAIN came and rescued me! :eek: (Dad retired as S1 because he preferred the street work and working with the guys.)

The wife and I have been on a HOHS cruise for the past 3 years and are booked for the 2007 cruise.

Always a great time. Also we are not all hairy and we don't have our bikes on board riding in hallways and up and down stairs. Someone on here also has the HOGS confused with the group of men that where on in

October that caused some problems. Get your facts right. Many of us are business owners, doctors, nurses, etc. Professional people, many are veterans. You may also want to visit the website hogsonthehighseas dot com .

We doin't oink, a few drink and some smoke... oh my God! Captain of the Mariner is a Harley rider and even has his bike on board so that he can ride on the islands. Great captain.

I wasn't there...I'm only going on what I've read. And being a professional hardly exempts people from bad behavior. I have nothing against HOGS...not at all, it's the behavior that was reported.

 

From what I've read, and I don't know who was doing what, but from what I read, I would have been very unhappy had I had my family with me on that cruise.

I can imagine what it's like: A bunch of big, hairy guys racing each other around the Promenade Deck or the Sports Deck, riding their bikes up the inside stairs, doing wheelies off the elevators.

I didn't read the HOGS thread, but I have to defend the majority of H-D owners who are ordinary, responsible citizens. My son owned an older Harley which he restored. He rode it very responsibly. "Mom, I put a lot of time and money into that bike. I'm not going to mess it up."

 

On an Alaska cruise, my DH and I decided to buy a Harley T-shirt for DS as a gift. We got a big laugh in Anchorage. The Harley dealership was on the second floor of a building on the main street. At the top of a very steep flight of stairs stood a beautiful, fully outfitted motorcycle. Would have loved to have seen how they got it up there.

Ain't nothing wrong with Harley riders! The vast majority of them are great guys and gals that respect the law! We escort a ride each May called "the Honda ride" (not just for Honda riders) that brings in lots and lots of $$$ for brain cancer research on behalf of young patients! Great cause! Only ones I don't particularly care for are the ones with "Hells Angels", "Chosen Few", "Vagos", "Mongols", "Hessians" etc. etc. on their backs - they get no slack

I was on the Nov. 5th HOHS cruise and I don't remember any problem and I didn't hear of any. What did you read and do you have a link to it?

TOM,...You have one hell of an imagination,thats for sure. IF people were not ignorant,and maybe did some research before they opened their mouth,they might find that there were NO bikes on this cruise that everyone is so quick to point invalid accusations at....so,...consequently,we HOGS all missed out on the riding our bikes around the decks,creating mayhem,and running over lil' ol' blue haired ladies in wheelchairs that got in OUR way!!!...oh wait,...come to think of it,there was ONE bike on the cruise....and that one belonged to the CAPTAIN of the ship,which he rode it responsibly when in port....Watch out people...we just may be on holland american NEXT year.....GRRRRRRRRRR
