I took the Lincoln towncar. I think that the towncar can be a fun thing to ride in whether you're 80 or 5, just like this ship. It's spacious and comfy. Plus, it's a Lincoln. I would, from what I've heard, list Royal Carribean as a BMW or a Bentley, so from the quick glance I saw I picked the Lincoln

I picked the PT Cruiser because anybody can drive one and feel good. If i could pick any car or vehicle it would have been an H3 Hummer. As for the guy who suggested a yugo or gremlin by your listed past cruise's you don't have a clue!!!

I voted PT Cruiser as well. Not because I have one (but I do, yay), but because they are a very popular car and Carnival is the most popular cruise line. They represent fun and whimsy and can be classy, sporty and family oriented all at once. They give you alot for your money in style and extras.

I am kinda miffed how Carnival can be seen as a minivan. Minivans to me are pretty much all about family. What is it? Party ship or Family ship? I mean, I don't mind people thinking of it as a family ship, but it just seems strange since we all know that Carnival's reputation was a party ship for so many years. I had no idea it had flip flopped so quickly. I think it would be wrong to give it either reputation since it has something for everyone.

Goin Cruisin',

I agree about only people who have sailed Carnival should be able to vote. But alas, it just shows they have no idea what they are talking about. I do have a disdain for people who have their mind made up without experiencing things for themselves, but they are the mindless followers in our society who just go by what other people say and can't make up their own minds. At the same time, they feel the need to make fun of or put down something they know nothing about. As I have said before, though, fine with me. It makes me feel that even though Carnival is the most popular cruiseline, it is like it is a nicely kept secret and keeps the snobby people off the ship. :D

I voted for the Chrysler PT Cruiser. I have never owned a Chrysler, but I see the PT Cruiser as the "under dog" that really surprises people when they really give it a chance.

This car is less money than it should be because it's rated for "c.a.f.e." as a truck.(cruise for less because of high volumn of pax) It also has the earlier styling (golden age of cruising). All the modern conviences you want as options ( much to do, or not.... when cruising) It's a "fun" car (it's the fun ship !):p

I just voted for the Ford focus. Lots of 30-40 yo's with kids in tow and lots of singles - at least when we cruised Carnival (summer weeks and Easter week).

We've been cruising RCCL and Princess lately and I love the ships but I like the Carnival crowd. We've been cruising in the fall and the passengers aren't as lively.

Carnival is a Toyota 4Runner.

Not too big, not too small, Not too pricey, Can suite us all.

One that we can all afford, lots of fun, let's climb aboard.

Nice sized cabins, bathrooms too, And towel animals just for you.

Lots of Foo Foo drinks for me, Especially the captain's party, those are FREE!

Fun a plenty, these are just a few. So come along, you can be a past guest too!:D

I'd vote for a big take half the road, gas guzzling, 8 passenger SUV, maybe not an Escalade, but certainly an Expedition. Think about it, most of their ships are a floating city, they obviously have as a whole (not the biggest) but on average the largest ships on the road (water) A lot of amenities (the Exepedition) but not known as having all the bling bling (Escalade)

Maybe I should clarify -- not only is the minivan a "family car," it is also a "party car." What could be better than having one designated driver and six partiers?? It is also a great road trip vehicle -- plenty of room to stretch out and take a nap while someone else drives and plenty of luggage space.

So the minivan is very multipurpose and so is Carnival. I have been on a young singles' cruise, anniversary cruise, family cruise, girls' only cruise, and honeymoon cruise and I have felt like Carnival catered to me and my type of passenger every time.

It would be nice if the only people allowed to vote on this would be people who had actually BEEN on a Carnival ship

GC...

Been there ...done that...3 times with more to come....

Maybe the people polling on this that have not been on will learn something...

YUGO or GREMLIN--- no matter how cheap the product it's still a piece of crap.

OH? Of course you did not list all 170+ cruises you have been on, but Carnival is obviously left off the list ... does that mean you have not traveled with CCL lately? We only have been on 3 cruises in the last year, one on Carnival, 2 on RCCL ... and my wife and I discussed yesterday as we waited to disembark from RCL Mariner of the Seas, that Liberty (the current one for Carnival, not the future one for RCCL), is our favorite of the 3. Or maybe your term "crap" referred to the Casino?

BUT ... there are many other ships and lines on the seas that we WANT to try ... but doubt we will hit your number ... although it would be fun to try :-)

Thanks Everyone! (and I do mean everyone)

I've never laughed out loud over postings as much as I have tonight. Whether you love 'em or hate 'em, you've all really put a fun twist on rating a cruise line. We've all encountered lemons in our lives, be it cars, cruises or people. So remember - When life hands you lemons, make Margaritas!

I chose the Ford Focus Hatchback.. It seats 5 just like larger cars, but without as much room, and it is kind of plain.

Carnival had a lot of fun activities (Late night comedians not found on RCCL, and some of the gameshows unique to carnival), and I plan on sailing on them again, I just like the decor of the decks more (Especially the larger pool areas) on the larger RCCL Ships. Yes it costs more usually to go on the Voyager/Freedom Class on RCCL, but the ships really are nicer!

I always use the following analogies:

Carnival: Denny's & Saturn

NCL: Old Country Buffet & Chevrolet

Royal Caribbean: Olive Garden & Honda

Celebrity: Macaroni Grill & Acura

Princess: Bravo & BMW

Cunard: Capital Grille/Ruth's Chris & Mercedes

However, while there are plenty of cars I don't like, I haven't met a cruise I didn't like!:D

P.S. Sorry if the restaurant analogies are regional....

One other reason...a car with the word "cruiser" in it HAS to be the perfect analogy for Carnival. :D

Denny's? Nah, Denny's service is horrible and the food is not that great. Anyone who has actually sailed Carnival will tell that isn't Carnival. I won't go to a Denny's unless it is the only thing open or you pay me.

To CruiserJanet, I hate to tell you but you are sailing Carnival when you get on a princess cruise. :D :D :D :D

So would HAL be the Early Bird special at the Pompano Golf Club and a Model T?

EXACTLY, NeptunesGoddess (you've done your homework)! :) While PT Cruisers are *so cute*, I'd prefer a Hybrid like Toyota's Camry...enjoying myself but trying to do *my* part "to help" which relates to my thought of why Liberty's wonderful Med cruise didn't have paper towels in the public bathrooms (some complained). I'd like to think Carnival was doing THEIR part about paper waste/recycling abilities (let alone germ control!) for those wonderful 12 days.

Those who don't like Carnival are doing the rest of us a favor by NOT cruising CCL...attitude can have a great deal to do with our perceptions. :)

Caravan is an all-purpose vehicle. I've got friends with families who enjoy it and a retired neighbor who packs up his buddies and goes to an Indianapolis Colts game (you know--the guys who always do great in the regular season and lose in the playoffs). It's affordable and is adaptable--both families and groups without kids can enjoy its room and comfort. CCL appears that way.

My vote would also be for a Mustang for the FUN! Since, that is not an option I would go with a Honda or Toyota for SERVICE. However, COMFORT must also play a role in my decision when I think about those wonderful Carnival beds. Unfortuntatly, I just don't see a car listed that meets all the criteria: VALUE, FUN, SERVICE, AND COMFORT! I'll have to think a little harder on this one.
