Duty Free on Ships

I am a smoker and will be cruising on the Grand Princess in a few weeks. This is my first cruise and don't know if I should bring my own cigarettes ($25 a carton) or buy them at the duty free on the ship - which is cheaper?? Thanks and happy cruising!

Spongerob is correct, you can't buy a carton and take back to your room. You can buy them by the package in the bars, but probably cheaper to bring from home. If you're stopping in St. Maarten, they were really cheap, somewhere around $11 a carton.

If you buy them in the duty-free, they are held until the end of the cruise, just like liquor. You won't get them until the evening before you are scheduled to disembark.

What if you buy them at a duty free at a port - can you bring them directly to your room or will they be held until the end of the cruise as well??
