Non-Smoking Cruises (or next best thing)

I LOVE to go cruising, but my allergies to cigarette/cigar smoke result in my feeling subpar while aboard. Invariably we end up within 'smoke' distance of someone in a room who's smoke comes are way. As a result, I am unable to enjoy the fresh air from our veranda, sitting outside at some of the restaurants and the casino.

Are there any top rated all inclusive cruise lines/ships out there that empathize with my situation and provide a healthy environment for its passengers?

Latest cruises have been with Silverseas and Regent. Ideally I'd like something comparable but without smokers.

Any suggestions appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Nope, no more non-smoking ships! If there had been sufficient demand for a non-smoking ship, the Paradise would still be non-smoking. Unless, and until that changes, there won't be any more non-smoking cruise ships. I, for one, was very disappointed when Carnival decided to make the Paradise into another ship that wreaks of cigarette smoke.

From what I've read on this board, Oceania really limits the smoking to designated areas and does not allow smoking in the cabins. That's the only one I've read about. Good luck!

True. Oceania permits smoking is only designated outdoor areas and in a small section of one indoor lounge. Surprisingly, the policy seems to be taken well by smokers.

I also heard that Oceania only allows smoking in a couple of areas and that it does not permit smoking in the cabins or on the balconies.

I intend to find out for myself in 2008!! I just wish they had more than 3 ships.

I was more disappointed when I found out that the Paradise never lost money....it just did not make ENOUGH money.

It ran below the MARS of the other ships and the MARS set by Carnival Corp.

But it still made money.

I have always said that with some very small changes, it would have been the easiest to fill...but Carnival took the easy way out.
