Has anybody ever heard of American Transport? I'm not sure where it is based out of, but when I called the hotel that we are staying at in Galveston, they told me about this company. I called them and they charge $25 per person to go from Hobby to our hotel on Seawall in Galveston. And it's the same price from the Cruise terminal to Hobby. For the 4 of us, we found this to be the most economical one we've found.

However, I a little bit nervous about booking with a company I've not heard about, and I can't find it when I google it. I'm hoping SOMEONE here will know it and let me know if this place has a decent reputation or if there seems to be lots of problems with them.

Thanks,

Diana

The Conquest has been docking at the Punta Langosta pier in San Miguel. Like all Carnival ships, duty free shopping is available while at sea. You will need to know prices well to know what is a better deal on ship or duty free in ports.

Yes, so true. Many times the stewards will make more noise than if you were across from pax cabins. Especially early in the morning.

Thanks for the advise...I just contacted my TA and she moved me to cabin 7393. Hope it's quieter. :)

We'll be sailing on the Conquest April 15 and are so very excited. Thank you for sharing your photos. (The only drawback about sailing on a Sunday - I'll miss the Nextel Cup Race - Go Dale, Jr!!!)

We'll be on that sailing as well - wouldn't you know that's the week they're reacing in Fort Worth and that's where we live! Thank God for TIVO and the Sports Bar on the Conquest!

See you there?

How far is Margaritaville from the ship in Jamaica ? Is it walking distance or should you take a taxi there ? If walking, do you have to walk thru a hoard of vendors haslting you ? Is there decent shopping areas nearby as well ?

It's not walking distance. You have to take a taxi. There's better shopping at the terminal than near Margaritaville.

My daughter's fiance loves burgers, prime rib and beef steaks (no sauces). He's not a fancy food type of guy. Any suggestions? I heard there is a type of steak that one can order in the dining room any night. Is this true on the Conquest? Does the buffet offer any of the dishes that are served in the dining room each night?

Also, do they have any country music venues on this ship? They both like alot of different music, but they also love to dance to county/western music.

If he doesn't see anything he likes on the menu he can order a Strip steak or a Fillet Mignon; every night if he likes.

The ship caters to us Texans. You will find country music in the lobby and along the Promenade deck near the casino every night as well as select venues on other nights.

We just came off the Jan 21 sailing and we didn't miss one night of Blood Power. Unfortunatley that was their last sailing. They were going back to the Phillapines for 2 months and then they were going back on a carnival ship. They didn't know which ship at that time. We were a group of 20 and we all got pictures with them. They were awsome!!!!!
