We are cruising out of Miami on Navigator of the Seas on Feb. 17 and are wondering what time we can get on the ship... The RCC paperwork says not to arrive before 1:00, but we've heard from lots of sources that they usually allow you on the ship around 11:00. What was your experience??

Thanks!!

I'll be on the Explorer of the Seas soon and in my movement around these boards I came across this link that dougp26364 has in his signature.

The photos are great and if you click the slideshow function, you get an excellent photo tour of the Explorer. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks to dougp26364.

Will be happy to answer any questions you may have. We were on a Western Caribbean cruise.

We're on this cruise 4/22. We, my friend and I, are not really too much into ruins etc.. how is the shopping at these ports? I've been to GC and Cozumel already and loved both places. How are Belize & Costa Maya for shopping or other activities?

Who was the Captain? Do they have the new bedding yet?

The new bedding is ship-wide and is very nice. The Captain was Sverre Ryan; the CD was Allan Brooks, one of the best we've ever had.

There was a very small shopping area at the Belize City port, which was enclosed by a locked gate. I wouldn't want to wander outside the gate unescorted, but I tend to be a conservative traveler. Most people seemed to take excursions: those who did the zipline tour had a great time. Many booked a cave tubing excursion, but the water-based excursions were canceled because of wind and heavy rains earlier in the week. There were plenty of guides at the dock who will take you wherever you want to go.

In Costa Maya there is a lot of shopping at the port, a wonderful pool, and several restaurants. If you look at my pictures of Costa Maya, you will see pictures of the pool and beach area at the port. Lots of cruisers took a cab to the beach at Mahahual and spent the day there. I didn't see any shopping at Mahahual, but we just drove through on the way back from our excursion.
