Tax in Buenos Aires and Santiago

I am aware that we have to pay a tax at the Santiago airport on our departure from South America.

Is there a tax or fee we have to pay when we arrive in Buenos Aires?

I heard we can only pay in US dollas in Santiago - is this true, or can we charge the exit tax?

You do not have to pay any tax on arrival in Buenos Aires and you do not normally pay tax when departing from Santiago.

I know some people have had to pay, but I think the majority have not been hit.

If you are arriving into Santiago, you do have to pay the tax. As we did not have to pay since we were departing, I cannot answer whether the Chilean Government will accept credit cards. I do know that in Peru, we had to pay a tax and it had to be in Peruvian Pesos.
