Laundry Facilities on the Sun?

Hi everyone . . . .my husband and I are sailing on the Sun next Sunday, 2/18. This will be our first NCL cruise and we are really excited. Quick question - are there laundry facilities on the ship? I have looked at deck plans and extensively on the NCL site and can't tell. Thanks, in advance, for your assistance.

Thanks, Jerhardt. I was hoping there would be some laundry facilities somewhere - oh well -

Noticed that you are going to Alaska with Princess. We have been fortunate to go twice in the last five years and really enjoyed everything about the cruise and Alaska. We were on the Sun Princess and the Diamond Princess - rountrip out of Seattle. We went in early June both trips and the weather was perfect - very little rain and good "jeans and sweatshirt" weather. Good luck on your trip. It is one that you will remember forever.

Was your experience on the Sun a good one? We just booked last minute - for my birthday on 2/21. We always have a great time - we make our own fun!! This is 20+ total cruises for us - we have sort of lost count but it is our "hobby" and we go every time we can. This will be our first NCL. Hope we have plenty of sunshine and the rest will take care of itself. Thanks for answering me back. Happy sailing . . . . .

I have been on 2 NCL ships, the Star and the Sun. Personally I like the Sun much better than the Star. It just has a better "vibe" if you know what I mean. Good arrangments with the restaurants, nice staff, smaller ship (compared to the Star). This is one of the reasons we have booked the Hawaii Escape (13 day) this Sept.

We've just started cruising and have finally found a vacation that we like and can afford.

The cruise to Alaska isn't really for us, but we are taking our older kids on it (with their girlfriends), so it's a family thing, that's why it's only 4 days.

Hi again. . . . we did the exact same thing! Our second cruise in Alaska we took our four grown boys and one daughter-in-law. Our first trip was with my Mom & Dad (mid-70s), my sister and brother-in-law and my brother. The entire cruise we kept saying "wish the boys were with us", so two years later we planned a year in advance (so they could get off of work and school, etc.) and took them. It was WONDERFUL . . . so fun to travel w/ grown children. We thought they would do their "own thing" but they pretty much hung out with us. It was really funny, several times we would go in to the Casino and one of the dealers would say "hey, your son Kyle was here earlier and he did pretty good". Actually, Kyle won the slot tournament and all of the kids had a great time. Their favorite thing was to set up a card game (hearts, or whatever) in the lobby bar and people watch during the days we were at sea. We had a suite and have great pictures of all of us on the balcony sailing through Tracy Arm (with several bottles of champagne to toast the glaciers!) Great pictures, great memories - something very special.

Good Luck and thanks for the info on the Sun. We will have a great time no matter what . . . . blessed to be going to some sun and fun. It's been cold for us in North Texas. Last week we had snow (ice) and temps in the 20s. I know that probably sounds pretty mild to you, but we were freezing

!!

Take care and happy cruising . . . . .

You can of course send it out.

Once a week, the ship usually does a laundry special. As much as you can get into one laundry bag for $20 or something like that - I can't remember the exact amount from my last cruise. It's good value. This time we got over $60's worth into one bag. A friend holds the records amongst the group of us regular Sun cruisers - almost $80's worth once.

Ask your cabin steward when you get onboard which day the special is.

We just finished the Spirit S. Carribean - the laundry bag showed up on day 6 of the 10 day - Price was $25.00 - Last year on the Sun it was day 5 of the 7 day - cost was $20.00 - but price could have gone up fleet wide. Still well worth it - cause I didn't have to do it. :D

Thanks for letting me know about the laundry bag. Of course, swim suits, etc. I can rinse out in the room. Good to know ahead of time that I'll need some woolite or liquid soap. It is really nice to have laundry facilities (and an ironing board to press) close by your cabin. I think most of our past cruises (at least in the last three or four years) have had laundry facilities. It makes packing a bit lighter and easier also. Thank you for taking time to answer my question.
