Temperature on decks

We have cruised Alaska before, and in May it was a little too cold to be out on the decks. I'm packing now for our Caribbean cruise and don't know what to expect to wear on sea days on deck. Is it hot or do you get enough of a breeze to make it comfortable (differnce between shorts or pants). Any help would be appreciated!

Where is the Caribbean?

 

For the most part, you can expect warm days, once in the Caribbean.

Anything can happen in FLorida, assuming you are sailing out of FLL.

Evenings might be warm or slightly chilly. Best to bring a sweater& sweatshirt for the evenings.

Shorts will be fine during the day.

We're sailing out of Tampa Sunday. I heard that Belize is 90 right now, but I wasn't sure how cool those ocean breezes are. We're expecting 8 - 12 inches of snow by Wed, so thinking of warm weather stuff to wear has been hard.

You are on the same path as we are in Pittsburgh for a lot of snow, freezing rain and sleet for a couple of days.

Sometimes in places like Belize, the evenings can be very hot and humid on the decks. Take a little bit of everything and be prepared.

It all depends on how far the cold front reaches from Florida. Generally, the further south you sail, the warmer it gets.

You should plan to have a light jacket or sweater when you land in Tampa. It could possibly be cool enough to need a little cover. Remember, Tampa is a fair distance north of sunny/warm FLL and Miami.....which also can sometimes be downright chilly.

 

Once you sail, you'll be wearing all summer weight clothing. Think shorts, capris, short sleeve jerseys/tanks and swimsuits.

 

We, in Boson, are also expecting the nasty winter storm.
