MassCruiser Posted February 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2007 Hi, this is a very last minute cruise & our first on NCL - Jewel, eastern, & I have a few questions about St. Thomas. Our itinerary states that we'll be in St. Thomas from 8am to 4pm: 1) What time will we be able to go through customs in the morning? 2) What time will we be able to disembark after clearing customs? 3) St. Thomas is currently one hour ahead of the east coast, correct? Any info will be greatly appreciated!
Nickymjw1 Posted February 22, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2007 All I remember is that it took us about 1 hr to get off the ship, so if it says 8am, I would count on being off at 9am. I would love it if you let me know how it went. We are going in April & have a sail charter booked at 9:15am Thanks!

firefly333 Posted February 22, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2007 We had to go thru customs for St. Thomas on the CB and we just walked by a table and showed our stuff and they crossed us off a list. Everyone on the ship had to do it, even the crew. It went very fast. We had already set the ship's clock ahead by by hour before we had gotten into the port before St. Thomas so we were already on the same time as St. Thomas. MassCruiser Posted February 22, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted February 22, 2007 thanks for the replies! :) I remember going through customs very quickly, but can't remember the timing. Is the posted time (8am) the time we can start disembarking, or is that the time we actually arrive & start customs? We were going to book a 9:30am excursion on our own, but was afraid we'd be cutting it to close so I made it 11:00am. Nickymjw1 - what sail charter are you booked on? Nickymjw1 Posted February 23, 2007 #6 Share Posted February 23, 2007 We booked with Rumbaba. Even though they say ship excursion people get to go through customs first, they don't check so you can get in line as early as you want. That's what we are going to do. MassCruiser Posted February 24, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted February 24, 2007 We went on the Alaunt a couple of years ago. If you have half as much fun as we did it will be fantastic. Enjoy!

fin Posted February 24, 2007 #9 Share Posted February 24, 2007 I don't remember going thru customs for the US Virgin Islands.
MassCruiser Posted February 24, 2007 Author #10 Share Posted February 24, 2007 I don't remember going thru customs for the US Virgin Islands. We'll be stopping in a foreign country (Antigua) before St. Thomas which is why we have to go through customs. I remember it going very quickly, I just wanted to find out what time we would actually get off the boat.
