LaurynNitzy Posted February 23, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2007 DH and I are going on Spirit... How much do you tip for room service? I would usually just order coffee and toast in AM or grilled cheese or pizza...

Bring singles....no two dollar bills and no coins..
discjoker Posted February 23, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2007 I usually tip $2 minimum. More if I am ordering more than a few items.
utopia2064 Posted February 24, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2007 Can you charge tips for room service to your on-board account like you usually can in a hotel? I prefer not to carry much cash.

I don't think so. The deliverer doesn't usually bring a slip to sign since there's no charge for the food. I suppose it's possible if you order something that's chargeable (e.g., alcohol, canned soda, etc.) because then there would be a slip to sign where you could write in a tip. But normally a room service tip is made in cash. I agree with those who say $1-2 for something simple, $4-5 for a big order.
Jana Posted February 24, 2007 #6 Share Posted February 24, 2007 I just change a $20 bill and have the singles in a drawer. After I place my order I pull pout a couple of bills so they're there when the service arrives (no digging around for it). When I run out of the singles I just change another $20 at the casino. 7SeasLover Posted February 24, 2007 #9 Share Posted February 24, 2007 We tip $2 per person at the time service is provided. If the butler brings the tray, we do not tip as the butler will be tipped separately at the end of the cruise. When I cruise with my husband, I don't tip because hubby brings the food!!!! ;)
