Well, here we are CRUISE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I will try and do is, write a daily review of our Eastern Carib cruise aboard the Glory.

My g/f and I spent 1 night pre-cruise at the Country Inn and Suites right across from the port. Not a bad price for the park and cruise ( 119.00 ) figured I would have to pay $84 for parking at the cruise terminal anyway. Very nice room ( rm 300 ), we had a view of the ships in port as we woke up this morning. There was a Disney ship ( magic i think ) and our home for the next 7 days THE GLORY!

The front desk staff were great. I made the reservation earlier in the week. No problems finding the hotel at all. Rita at the desk was very easy to deal with, no worries here. I will for sure stay here again if we cruise out of Pt. Canaveral in the future.

They do offer a shuttle to the port $3 per person each way, you can charge this to your room. I paid cash round trip for the two of us, $12. Dont forget to tip the driver as he is handling your bags and you dont want them in the Bannana River :D . There are several time slots to choose from, we are going on the 10:15 shuttle.

Bummer cause it started raining about 25 min ago. Oh well the Lido is covered in spots.

Well, gotta start getting ready for first day on board. Heading to the free breakfast at the hotel. I will post again tomorrow for Day 1.

See ya then.

Well, not ALLLLL the details are not fit for younger eyes.....hubba hubba:D .

Got back from breakfast, if you have one of the bagle sandwiches....nuke it for about 2 min. The timer isnt working all that good.

The rain has stopped for now, we can see the ship from our window. Getting excited just knowing that the time is here, and the ship is in sight.

Oh yeah, we will be in cabin 1065 Panorama Deck Balcony ( first balcony for us ). Our shuttle leaves in just over an hour. All of our tags are on, Bahamas forms filled out, fun passes complete. Just a little longer.

I can say, dont speed coming here in the near future. Bike week started in Daytona today. The cops are out in force. So please take your time, allow plenty of time to get here. A couple wemet at breakfast got stuck on the Florida Turnpike because of a fire by US-27. They were coming from Georgia. So please be careful getting here.

Hasta!

Tim & Pam,

I hope you enjoy your cruise, we will be getting on the day you are leaving. Even though ours will be the Western cruise the ship is the same no matter where she sails so I'll be waiting to hear what your thoughts are about her... good and bad. Wishing you smooth sailing and nothing but blue skies and a safe return,

Jim

Alrighty then,

We got to the port about 10:20 am. Yeah kinda early but ya know. The ship was a little late getting in this morning. We went to check in and what do you know, they put some other woman in my cabin with me ( but didnt have a key for my g/f. No problem really, they gave her a sticker so she could get through security. We waited about 30 min to board the ship.

We were instructed to go to the pursers desk to get a sign and sail card. Well here's where the fun begins. It seems the system wasnt working right. So they told us 20 min. Well 20 min was more like 4.5 hours. No problem for us though I had a key. There were ALOT of people that didnt have keys. Some poor guy had his bags lost by the airline ( he still didnt have them this morning ).

Ok a small blip ( they were supposed to remove a $200 OBC, but it was still there, so no b**chen from me ).

Cabins werent quite ready, but we dropped our carry-ons at the room, let the cabin steward know and there wont be any problems. Had lunch on the Lido, a beer, then finally cabin was ready.

Here is a major shock. We had our bags ( 5 of them ) by 3pm.

The ship pushed back around 4:30-4:45, a little behind but no worries. Set up our cash for sign and sail. Decided to change our seating to a booth for 4 that had nobody in it. I know, but I have a strange job and some people may not take it ok ( work at a nudist resort......YES I wear clothes ) so rather than have to answer those wierd looks, easier to sit by ourself.

Made reservations for the Emerald Room. This is a MUST DO, for everyone. Now dont think you will get out of formal night by having dinner there on those nights, men will need a jacket. So we made it for monday.

Now I know what everyone has been talking about with the balconys. We will NEVER book anything but a balcony from now on. SOOOOOO much more room, and just the fact that if I wanna go out side nekkid, I CAN!.

Oh yeah, for the Texas Hold'em players. They have that thing called poker pro ( think thats the name ) so no live dealer. The casino is low limit on the first night usually a $3 bet at the tables.

OK, tomorrow, I will tell ya about Nassau.

BTW 1065 is an AWESOME location. No noise at all, except for the balcony door slamming next door 1067. They stopped though.

See ya tomorrow.

Since the ship isnt scheduled to arrive in St Thomas til 10 am, and there are several other cruise ships there, Id like to know if you get to dock at the pier or have to anchor in the water and be tendered in.

Thanks

Sorry we didnt get on last night. Well Nassau is tons better than Freeport. We took a cab to the atlantis ( $4 per person ). It took maybe 5-10 min to get there from the port area. Since we got there on a Sunday, the shops do not open until after 10am.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Jimmy is the cruise director, funniest man we have ever seen ( the kilt is a blast ). We have a few pics and video of him at the past guest party, yes they still give the pins.

Still the same video, but Funship Freddy was a no-show :( .

For the noro-virus worriers, the staff at the buffet are wearing plastic gloves to help. Also the staff is cleaning all the time. There are tissues on the back of the public bathroom doors as well.

Food has been fantastic. We ate in the Emerald Room on Monday night. OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!! Well worth the extra charge.

To answer the question about St. Thomas. There were 3 other ships in port when we arrived. We docked at Havenview, in front of us were the Carnival Liberty and the RCI Voyager Of The Seas. We parked right behind Voyager. At the other pier ( cant remember the name ) the HAL Noordam, was there. So a total of 4 ships docked, no tender.

We booked a tour through CCL " Journry Through Paradise ". This was a 2 hr ride around the island and 2 hrs of shopping downtown. The name of the tour operator was " Old Towne Tours ", our driver/guide was Tony. Very nice man, good driver, these roads sure do wind a bit. Its kind of like NYC on a mountian. Went shopping downtown, had lunch at a little coffee shop next to the Foot Locker shoe store. Some CCL crew were also there so I would go there again.

OH YEAH!, some people on board are using there room key as there safe key. DO NOT DO IT!

So far a good trip, we had some wind last night but the waves were only 4-7.5 ft. It started cloudy, but the sun came out quickly. Weather here today was warm with an awesome breeze. Something like 80-85 deg.

Oh I almost forgot. When you get to St. Thomas, EVERYONE will have to go through immagration and customs. The line is on Deck 5 along the casino. Then you go through one of the lounges and throughthe game room to come out basically right back where you started. Then you can go to deck 0 to get off the ship. Kind of confusing, but oh well.

Ok, Next stop is St. Maarten. We are going to the butterfly farm and Marigot.

Anymore questions.....ask away.

Hi,

We are on your cruise too, but you probably figured that out by now.

We are staying at the Radisson Port Canaveral. They have a shuttle to the port and let you park there. We are staying there Friday, driving over from Tampa.

See you on the Glory!

Larry & Dot
