Pacific Dawn Cruise Cancelled

Bad news about delay in launching Pacific Dawn - ex Regal Princess. No doubt Carnival reckon it will take longer for the blue and yellow P&O paint to dry..not to mention an extra 500 beds going in to the ship to increase capacity from 1500 to around 2000 pax.

As some of you would know by now..wife and I are on the 'bring over cruise' of Regal, leaving San Pedro, LA on 31 August and arriving Sydney on 2 October, this year. we visit 12 ports on the way through the Pacific on the 31 night cruise, so we hope the repairs went OK !!

Happy cruising..Les:cool:

Thanks KAREN..we will be the overweight pax struggling with mega ports...after 32 days of cruising..eating..drinking..shopping..what would you expect.? Got to get value for your hard earned $

On a more serious note..P&O are really giving the Pacific Dawn some airing with the NSW Daily Telegraph in its Monday reporting the 75th Harbour Bridge celebrations, showing Pacific Dawn painted up in blue and yellow, superimposed on the Harbour. Some people out of the 'cruising loop' would think it is here already when it is off South America somewhere as Regal Princess. For a few months prior to leaving LA on 31 Aug, the ship is doing LA - Hawaii cruises, so she is getting plenty of work prior to arrival in Sydney town on 2 Oct. Apparently most of the Regal Princess crew will stay as Pacific Dawn crew, which is good.
