Will my T-Mobile cell phone work on the Journey on sea days? To be honest, I'm not even sure if it will work in Bermuda. Can anyone supply me with information. I'll be very grateful thanks

IF your phone is GSM and multi band

IF you have international roaming available and activated

IF Journey joins with a few of the other X ships that have cell phone towers

you might have access on the one day sailing to Bermuda and the one day sailing back, $2.49 minute + T-Mobile roaming costs. For Bermuda, check with T-Mobile to see accessibilty and costs.

and IF you call T-Mobile first to tell them to unlock your phone (just in case you need to buy a SIM card) (not sure this is required but it only needs to be unlocked once)

It will cost you around $5.00 per minute with roaming and ship fees etc.

Irish is right. T-Mobile charges more than any other major carrier. Using Cellular @Sea or a similar service, Verizon, Cingular and Sprint charge $2.49 or $2.99 a minute.

 

T-Mobile is $4.99 a minute. A 10 minute call home will cost nearly $50!!!! with T-Mobile.

Don't you first and foremost need a cell tower??? And I have not been on a cruise ship yet that has a cell tower onboard.....

Many ships now have cellphone onboard. The cell service is relayed to the ship by satellite, distributed to repeaters onboard, and transmitted to cell phones onboard.
