The Caipirinha is my new favorite drink. This is the recipe I prefer.

From the PITÚ website:

PITÚ BRAZILIAN CAIPIRINHAcaipirinha.jpg

One-half lime

2 tsp. granulated or bar sugar

Crushed ice

2 oz. Pitú Cachaça

Garnish with slice of lime

Cut lime into small pieces and place in an old-fashioned glass. Add sugar. Muddle lime and sugar with a pestle or spoon. Fill glass with ice. Add Pitú. Put contents in shaker, shake well, return contents to glass and serve.

That would be a BBC:

  • 1 oz Bailey's Irish Cream
  • 1 oz Creme de Banana
  • 2 oz Pina Colada Mix
  • 1 oz Dark Rum
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Thank you!!!!!

What's a PITÚ BRAZILIAN CAIPIRINHA? What does it taste like?

exotic, slight sour/sweet, not rum exactly....I have no idea but I really like them. Even found the Pitu at the local Bevmo. Pitu is a liquor made with cane sugar like rum...but it's taste is not rummy. Can anyone else explain....or course, this weekend I could make a few just to test and decide what the taste is:D
