Car rental place by cruise terminal - Vancouver

We are planning to rent a car in Vancouver after the end of the cruise and drive to Seattle. We will drop the car at the Seattle airport.

Can you recommend a rental car place close to the cruise ships terminal?

We're renting from Hertz. They have said they will have the car waiting for us curbside at the cruise terminal but I understand they are also a short cab ride away....

You want downtown Vancouver. I have rented from Avis, Budget, National and Alamo. There is also Hertz. I walk to them all from Canada Place, but shuttles may be available.

We sailed from Ballantyne Pier. I rented from Avis. They had a free shuttle at the pier that took you to the downtown store.

National and Alamo, both have offices right beside the Cruise Ship terminal, in the Pan Pacific Hotel.

If you are dropping your car off, where is the parking lot?

Avis is has a location on Hornby St. between Georgia & Robson Sts, about a 5 block walk. However all of the rental companies will pick you up by shuttle from the cruise terminals. I would call the locations directly and see if you can't wiggle out of the "drop charge". I fear if you just contact the call centre agent you will just be quoted the party line and the drop charge can be well over $100. They should have lots of cars that they would like to have back in Seattle because they can't rent a US plated car to a Canadian.

I rented with National, and recall seeing choices for both of the cruise ship terminals in Vancouver (Canada Place and Ballentyne)
