AAAAmerican Posted May 19, 2007 #26 Share Posted May 19, 2007 Yes read everthing fully ! We NEVER take the (so called ) Insurance from the Cruise lines , T/A's etc... Yes there are specific reasons .. some are self underwritten others are secondary policies. Make sure your insuring company is rated well financially in your state where you reside. Make sure your Policy is PRIMARY. Compare what you need want and are =able to pay for too. SOme have great segments where pre-existing is covered if paid by a date in full..etc... We always look for the best product as well cost associated in everything we purchase. This firm we have used many times now even for our next cruise next month again in June 2007 too. They give you rates, basis, ratings etc.. FREE and in depth with hundreds of firms so yes there DATA Base :D is phenominal. ***** Always READ in depth and in FULL everything. It is so important to know.
sissy2000 Posted May 19, 2007 #27 Share Posted May 19, 2007 We took travel insurance with another company for a cruise we planned to the British Isles last year. We were set to fly into Heathrow the week after the suspected terrorists were arrested. We did not feel comfortable flying into Heathrow and cancelled. The airlines refunded our flights, but the travel insurance would not pay because there was not an actual terrorist "event" Princess would not help in any way (even a future credit) because we did not use their insurance. We simply lost the price of the cruise. We have used the Princess insurance ever since.
