From CPH to Copenhagen Marriott

For smørrebrød, probably the best place is Ida Davidson's http://www.idadavidsen.dk/index.php?page=8 Find it on the map, and check the open hours to see if you will be in the area of this great place for smorrebrod. If you are in the area during open hours, then you may as well stop here for a quick open face sandwich or two. Hum, I see on the website there is a link for reservations. Pehaps this is a good idea if you can.

 

For pastery, I noticed this place on the internet, La Glace, I think it's off Stroget which should be convenient. http://www.laglace.dk/eng/sortiment/konditorkager Although from the pictures on this website, they seem more extravagant than the average Danish Bakery. Looking breifly at the website, although they seem to sell everything, I don't see wienerbrød listed.

What a great thread. I am getting ready to leave two weeks from today, and this thread answered a lot of my remaining questions.

 

I am traveling solo, and I think I am going to get the taxi from the airport to the Marriott. I am pretty frugal, so it is killing me, but I think it might be a lot easier than trying to figure out the train system when I am tired. Two weeks from today at 6:00 a.m. I board my first flight to get me to CPH. I arrive at 9:l5 a.m. the next day.:)

We were there last week and took taxi to Marriott. Long lines to purchase tix for train. Without a doubt, taxi is best and less stress. Just go out and hail one. Also, LONG lines to get taxi when disembarking. Just walk out of the tent and past parking lot and hail one of the taxi's that are on the way in to pick up cruise passengers!! no wait!!

Thanks. I have an ll:00 a.m. flight out the last day, and I hate to spend time worrying about a taxi. I did read if you take off the luggage yourself at 7:00 a.m. there was not a wait. Hoping......

 

Also, I have copied all the pertinent information from this thread... like the best place to get ice cream in Nyhaven. Gotta have priorities. :-)

 

I never take taxis in everyday life. How much do you tip a taxi? l5%? I guess I should just figure taxis, restaurants, etc. are l5% right?

I have heard wonderful things about the Marriott, and I am glad I booked it!
