Any first hand reports of this hotel? Yes I've read tripadvisor.

I have stayed there. Typical large hotel. Rooms are functional but sterile.

 

I believe that the hotel is one of the few decent hotels in Brooklyn but I may be wrong on this point.

No you aren't wrong. There are not many hotels near the Brooklyn pier and the Marriott is the one in the best location - not the closest, but a location that is good.

My brother has stayed there. Its the only decent large hotel in Brooklyn. There are very decent B and B's in many areas surrounding Red Hook ie. Park Slope, Boerum Hill, Carroll Gardens but no nice large hotels....yet...there is one scheduled to open up shortly and two more are under same phase of construction. One at Atlantic and Smith should be done within 6 months and another on 4th avenue should be done within a year.
