toothy26 Posted June 13, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2007 I'm sailing on the explorer in august 08 to Bermuda. We definitely want to have a room with a sofa bed as my son prefers that. Here are the choices: 8214,8514,6202,6502,9320 Thanks
Sue L Posted June 13, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 13, 2007 I would stick with either decks 8 or 9 and you are between two floors of cabins instead of public spaces. Deck 6 you would be over the promenade and all the other public areas on deck
toothy26 Posted June 13, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted June 13, 2007 Thanks for your reply. I will take your advise however my other concern is being in the front of the ship. The cabins on deck 8 are right in the front of the ship. We don't care that they are not balcony rooms but we are worried about a lot of motion. Do you have any opinion regarding that? NYCRUISR Posted June 13, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 13, 2007 SUE L.......... good thought about location. We prefer deck 7,8 or 9. We also prefer aft cabins. Where on Long Island are you from?
NYCRUISR Posted June 13, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 13, 2007 If you go by the book............take a mid ship cabin on a lower deck. ( thats the old school ideal location) But today, these big ships are far more stable. Basically its all good.

Sue L Posted June 13, 2007 #7 Share Posted June 13, 2007 I just looked over the deck plans, 9320 is a very coveted center hump Grab it! Call tonight! Right NOW If you are booking through a TA call RCCL directly and have it put on hold until your TA is open. If you wait until tomorrow there is a good chance it will be gone. RareBird Posted June 13, 2007 #8 Share Posted June 13, 2007 take port side (right side) to get the view of Manhattan and status of liberty. we came back from this cruise 3 weeks ago, it was fantastic. We were near the front bank of elevators, 824x i believe. Excellent room.
Aprille Posted June 13, 2007 #9 Share Posted June 13, 2007 I just looked over the deck plans, 9320 is a very coveted center hump Grab it! Call tonight! Right NOW I totally agree! Of the 5 cabins you listed this would definitely be my choice! Forward cabins feel much more movement. And the center hump is highly coveted. Go for it!
