All Things Enchantment of the Seas

I have a question for all of you who are or were cruising Enchantment in June:

Did you book way ahead of time?? And, if you did, did you get any "Price Reductions" before departure.

I want to get an idea of my chances for next June.;)

MY DW and I booked in December for our cruise next week. The original amount at booking was $1209 per person I checked often for price drops and once it dropped in Feb to $1079 and I called to get the new rate. Then again about a month later it dropped to $1029 and that was the lowest it went!

Oh by the way, here are my pics from last month:

http://travel.webshots.com/album/559312583dJNhnR

Awesome Pics Christie! Thanks for sharing. I especially love all the pics of the Solarium Pool area, that's the most pics I've been able to see of it! I have a feeling we'll be spending alot of time at night there! :-)

Quick question, how large are the large dining room tables? We requested large and I'm hoping that means like 8 or more. We love to meet people and have a good time and I'm hoping large doesn't mean like a 6 person and we are with a 4 person family with children since our DS won't be with us. I know we can switch if need be. Just wondering if there are really large tables. Thanks! :-)

We were at a round table for 8 both times we were on Enchantment. We had great table mates each time, too.

Awesome, thanks mommabean! I was hoping if I didn't hear back from Christie that you would catch this post! I've enjoyed reading everything you've had to say about Enchantment and thoroughly enjoyed all your pics as well!!

Thanks for all your little pearls of wisdom and fun reading for all of us Enchantment newbies! :D

hello,

my wife and i were on eos in march,07. we had an inside cabin on deck seven just forward from the crown and anchor room. the cabin was bigger than i expected. it had lots of storage. we do recommend those shoe storage thing for extra storage.

we arrived at @11.00 am and was onboard by noon and enjoying lunch in the windjammer. went to our room to change into pool attire. enjoyed the pool for a while. about an hour later went down to see if our luggage arrived and like our other cruises with rccl it was there! geting there by noon is like having a full day on board the ship!

we ate at chops on the third night of the cruise. it was very good with outstanding service. i will suggest the filet . i thought it was better than my strip steak. lobster night was the last night in the main dinning room on our 5 night west caribbean cruise.

the ship was very clean and beautiful. we would recommend this ship to anyone.

do yourselves a big favor arrive a day early! leaves time for unfortunate delays and the like. fort lauderdale is a beautiful city. go to las olas blvd and the riverwalk area. buy a day pass for the water taxi and see the sights!

happy cruising!

I loved the EOS but wished there was less smoking. The casino was extremely smoky, everynight when I would kiss my son good night he pushed me away and told me I was too smoky smelling. The bars seemed the same way. Maybe we just had alot of smokers on board.

We had conceirge service. Wish we had Julian. Carlos was very efficient but not overly personal. He made reference that Julian may be going to a different ship when shortly after getting back from his vacation.

I'm sure Carlos is getting tired of everyone asking about Julian. We were on EN for Julian's last cruise before his vacation. He was so excited to be going home to see his kids. He told us that he would be back Aug. 18th. That's why we're doing EN Aug. 23rd!!! If he gets changed to another ship, guess we'll just have to find out where he is and follow him there!

As for the smoke in the casino, on our last cruise on EN they did something I've never seen before. They made the casino SMOKE FREE for one entire evening. They removed all the ashtrays, so no one was tempted. Funny part was that on that night the casino was least crowded of any night. Go figure!

Someone else asked about the piano bar (don't remember who). On our cruise Anton was in the Schooner Bar and it was packed every night. it was a great place to hang out.

We went to Chops on the 3rd night of a 4 day. I would have preferred the last night and I found the menu so-so. Since we were with a large group we went to reg. dinner first and had a glass of wine, everybody loved the italian night. We found Chops average, my filet was good, my husband and daughters steaks were average. The spinach was not to our liking. The mississippi mud pie was yummy! Service was average. If we had a do over I would have skipped Chops.

Dinner in the dining room was better then expected. The cafe at the Solarium could use some help. Room service food was also lacking, but the cookies were good. We never ordered breakfast from room service, only late night food. Teens ordered everynight tons of food.

The pools were packed on the sea day but you could still find chairs. Did not find to much chair hogging. I felt the Solarium was too hot everytime I went in there, looked beautiful just need more air circulating.

How did I miss this little tidbit of info? Are you trying to cause a panic attack? ;)

Just wait until Anita and Moses hear about this. They'll have to change their cruise schedule since they are planning to see Julian in Sept '08 I think.

I'm glad you mentioned his return date. I never asked him when he'd be back but I wrongly assumed he'd be gone no more than 6 weeks or so. I had been thinking of booking the August 13th sailing while my DD is away. Would I have ever been disappointed to find no Julian on board. If he changes ships, it sure will be nice to know where he will be going. Someone mentioned that the Enchantment would be relocated part of the year. If Julian's not on it, I won't be nearly as disappointed. I was looking forward to having the Navigator of the Seas relocated part of the time to Port Everglades anyway.

LOL! Was just reading this thread since we are leaving next Thursday for our 5 day cruise on the Enchantment. As I was reading, I noticed that someone asked about a room on deck 7, which we (dh, and df's), are on the same deck rooms 7106,08,&10...went to see where the room was that the poster was asking about, and all the decks are there on the deck plans except for Deck 7 & 8!!!

Must be a "glitch", at least I hope so! Anyway...thank you all for your great information on the Enchantment! Can't wait to goooooo!!!!:)

Thanks, Leslie! :) Sorry it took me so long to respond, I have out of state family coming today for a few days & I'm running around like a maniac! :p

The Solarium on Enchantment was THE most beautiful I've seen on a ship yet. Especially at night, when they close the roof, it is absolultely gorgeous!!! The dining rooms tables are made to size whoever is in your party. I mean, within good reason, of course! This cruise it was just my DH and I, and we had a table for 2. Right next to us, was a family of 8, plus 3 children! And they all sat together. So there are all different sizes. :)

Hi,

Looks like we'll be on the same cruise.

Yay! I'm so excited... is it time yet? I was on EOS last year in October. Same itinerary, except the Belize stop was switched to Cococay.

Who all are you going with? My bf is coming with me this time (last year, I went with my best friend/girlfriend).

I am January 7th on the 5 nighter. I am bringing my two kids plus my nephew. PLUS there was a C&A coupon for this cruise. If you booked it, look for the coupon.

Thanks but we won't be going until Jan 31 for a 4 nighter.

I think I just had a heart attack. Wow, I don't know what to think.

We have the Royal Suite booked. We wanted to throw a huge party

for all our cruise friends and have Julian perform in our room. This may change things. I will wait until we have more information.

I knew everything was going too smoothly.:(

Anita, I saw you here and knew you'd be feeling like me. Only I think you probably feel worse since you have the RS booked. So far, it's only a rumor. Don't panic (like me). Let's wait until he returns from his vacation, email him, and ask him. It's nice that you have up until 2 months prior to sailing to cancel.

I have been really afraid that as good as he is, that he'd end up getting promoted to a larger ship. They should just give him a big fat raise and keep him where he is.

If he sticks around, can I be your friend? I'll book a cabin on your cruise just to go to the private party with Julian as the star. Really, I will! :D That will be my youngest DDs first year in college so I'm free!

We are a family of 4 & when we made our ressies no one at RCCL asked about our dining table size, only which seating we preferred. We would like to be with other people. Should I call them & request a large table, or since there are already 4 of us, do you think that they will just put us with some other people?

Gina-

Absolutely you can come. You are first on my list. You and

Yael(YJ2CUTE). I was going to offer to have a Meet and Mingle

in my room and also a party where Julian (unbeknownst to

him but would get paid nicely) would be the featured star.

I think Julian would eat it up! Now Moe says "We'll have to get

Charo, she always on cruise ships."

I'm not changin' nothin' until we know more. BTW, my cruise

is 9/20/08.

It all depends on them. Check your table assignment when you get on the ship and if you aren't sitting at a larger table you can always request one.

Yes, you can call RCI and request to be at a large table. We do that all the time - and we get it.

You KNOW Julian would LOVE being the star. He's so good at enjoying the attention without letting it go to his head. I want Julian, not Charo. Although she is funny.

You are right to not change anything. I'll look into the 9/20 cruise for us, too.

Does anyone here plan on bringing alcohol on board the Enchantment in your luggage? I did last year with no problem. I usually bring some wine and jager so I can have some drinks on the balcony. Also just wondering if they have become any stricter since last year....

Hey, don't be stealing Yael in October! We have her booked on our Explorer cruise! :D :p

Aw--she can do both. This will be her chance to do a duet with

Jullian. You're welcome to come, too! The more the merrier.

When is your Explorer cruise? Tell Yael to come over here-

we're talking about her.
