All Things Enchantment of the Seas

I would like a Canon SLR but don't know if I want to hassle with it. I do have 2 compatible lenses for it though since I have a Canon Rebel film camera. I should probably stick with the 3 I have, huh? :o

Gina,

Thanks for the info. I have found that some friends of mine have Canon cameras as well and I have admired their pics. Thanks again!

Hi Pennsate Forever, Can you tell me which night is the best night on the 4 night cruise to go to Chops? I always seem to not like the Caribbean Night menu - was there one like that on the 4 night cruise?

There wasn't a Caribbean night on the 4 night cruise. Day 3 was an Italian night, though.

In order to save space in terms of luggage, we did not pack any suits or dresses (so no suitor). We found out the Formal night was Day 2 so we made a reservation for Chops on that night. Chops only requires pants for guys and a nice-ish shirt or polo top. For women, I guess it's just what ever is reasonable. I can't remember what my mom wore. I think it was a tasteful pants n' nice shirt deal.

Having been on enchantment 4 times I find it to be among my favorite ship. we have also been on mariner and sovereign several times. for our next cruise we are going to book the jewel of the seas. The new bedding on enchantment is fabulous. The last time we were on her, (may 20, 2007) we had a JS on the aft and was an excellent cabin with a very huge balcony. :)

Have fun.. you will LOVE the enchantment.:)

I believe that I heard the CDS say during the cruise that Enchantment was voted the "Friendliest Ship in the Fleet" in 2005 and 2006.

I believe it. :)

It really is. Glad everyone else had similar experiences.

Actually, yeah, I did answer those above. :) I don't wanna requote my entire post so here's the cliff notes:

I have a Nikon D200 digitial SLR.

The cruise on Enchantment I just took wasn't to Georgetown/Ocho Rios, but back in 2003 (pre-expansion of the Enchantment) I was on the Georgetown/Ocho Rios version.

momonthego17...... 2567 is not in the new section from what I can tell. It is close tho. There is an empty space beside your room so not sure what that is. You can view the deck plans by going to RCI's website and acting like you are going to book .

Can anyone tell me first hand if cabins on deck 4 will be noisy? The casino and Bolleros is directly above deck 4. I heard that someone said that it MIGHT be noisy but wanted to see if anyone first hand has had experience with staying on cabins on deck 4. Thanks so much:)

We are booked on the Enchantment next summer for a BACK-2-BACK-2-BACK !! June 9th - June 23. CAN'T WAIT....... but I'll have to. So, in the meantime, I'll keep on this thread.

First Group of Questions for all the recent Enchantment Cruisers:

On the deck plans, if you look at deck 9 (the pool deck), it shows next to the Fitness Center a "Cafe". Is this like the SeaView Cafes that are on the Radiance class ships?

What kind of food and what are the hours?

WOW. That's quite a cool trip. :)

Yeah, there's a cafe in the Solarium that serves burgers, hot dogs, fries, pizza, and some other stuff.

It's usually open in the early afternoon, closed for dinner, and open late night through early morning.

Good food. The fries were GREAT when fresh. ^_^

Having not been on a Radiance-Class ship, I don't know exactly what the SeaView Cafe is like (but I *desperately* want to go on a Radiance-Class).

I'm pretty sure you're talking about the cafe in the Solarium... I hope I'm not wrong. LOL

And it's really just a place to grab the food and then sit at the tables surrounding the Solarium pool in the middle. And you can take the food out. I see a ton of people take food out to the main pools or elsewhere on the ship, of course.

Does anyone know if there's a way to find out (on boarding day) what the menus are each night in the dining room. I'd like to pick my Chops night based on what's I'm missing in the dining room. I remember on Radiance the menu was on the room service menu in the room. Did they have this on EOS?

If you go to outside the My Fair Lady dining room on either level the menu should be posted in the early afternoon.

Man, this thread is making me so excited for our cruise. We are on the Enchantment for Christmas...I am so looking forward to it. This is our (DW and 2 DD) first cruise, and we have saved for the past 2 years. We are so excited. I wish it was closer. The problem we are having is trying to decide what to do in Belize and Cozomel. Everything sounds fun. We got a D1. The only thing that really concerns me is the weather in December, but I have read that it is nice. Great thread!

We LOVE the Radiance Class ships (you can see in our signature), and wanted to do a Back-2-Back on one of those, but they are either in Alaska (Too  Cold) or in Europe (Too Expensive) during the summer. I would HIGHLY recommend any of the Radiance class ships. They Are Definitely Our Favorites.

When you do, you will want to find the SeaView Cafe on deck 12 just above the Windjammer. Very unique menu and the Best Onion Rings in the world.

I have heard the same as you. Most people say that if you stay up late it really won't bother you. The only thing you really hear is the bass. I'll be under Bolero's in 25 days, I'll let you know first hand!

Our bad tour was called the Jungle Buggy tour and cave exploration.. We had to take a one hour bus ride( terrible roads), then go 9 miles on a very uneven dirt road with the bus driver doing about 60 mph. I felt sick. When we finally got there, the "Jungle" wasn't a whole lot different from any piece of land not cleared in a few years. Some pine trees, termite nest, etc.No animals, not even birds. Cave part was ok and lasted 20 minutes. It took the entire day to do this cruise and was a waste of precious time and money. Thanks, Teddy

Yeap, no problem.

Yeah, Radiance-Class ships are never where I need them to be when I need them to be there (read: Caribbean in the summer).

But even if I get on a Radiance-Class ship, I think I'll always prefer the Enchantment over anything else. The Enchanting is just so enchanting (that's what my family always says). :)

Answering three people in one post:

1. Cocktail lessons-on our cruise 6/9-Ocho/Cayman; very empty but you're supposed to prebuy tickets at the Schooner Bar Deck 6. They were selling tickets right up to starting time. It is held in the Spotlight lounge on Deck 6 where Quest is held and Karaoke every night.

2. Menus for the dining room where not in the "book" in our stateroom like other cruises(?). We never say the menu until that afternoon; it is posted in a glass case in the hall outside the dining room.

Here goes the memory:

1st night casual- great food

2nd night Formal,captain's reception(this was escargot night)

3rd night -Tropical

4th night-I'm thinking Italian

5th night-casual-lobster

My daughter vascilated one night between duck and filet tips, the waiter brought her both-what a special place!

3.All rooms on 4th floor are individualized and its hard to guess if below Bolero's you'll have a problem. Any room to the rear of the elevator bank did not seem to hear anything.

annie46-thanks for the reply about our cabin.

Do the inside cabins have safes and fridges in them? This will our first time with a inside cabin. Not sure what to expect.

We usually book a balcony but there were all booked except suites. And decided for the money this just couldn't be beat.

I am so ready to be there now!

PennState-I think we were on the same cruise, 6/14-6/18. Did you have a son with you who goes to PennState. When my son was at one of the bingos and the card was blue the staff said what does blue stand for and my son yelled Penn State..the kid behind us yelled "yeah", he goes there. Don't know where my son came up with that..sports junkie I guess.
