Crown Princess for Dummies-Just got back!

One thing that is reoccuring on these boards is that people sign up for assigned seating and get "anytime". I think that the ship is designed poorly. I think there simply isn't enough space to accommodate 3000 passengers in two seatings. So they have to do the anytime. It is the only logical conclusion.
 What?? What about all the other Princess ships in the fleet that offer the Anytime option - most in service way before Crown Princess came in - are they too crowded also?

Just got back from 6/26-7/5 Crown P- You can call this Crown P for dummies, but this is my personal advice:

1- I had Late Dining fixed at 8:15PM. I heard horror stories about long waits up to 1/2 hour to 45 min for anytime dining. Especially on the nite of the Captains Formal greeting nites. Not worth it.

It is not enough to request late seating. Get it confirmed! Thank the lord we got on the ship around 12:15PM when I discovered requesting late seating is not good enough. I shoulda confirmed it. By 1:30PM we were at the dining room arranging confirmed seating which I got. Long lines around 2:30PM developed and people were wait listed for late seating. Think about it. Why is there such a demand for late seating?

Wondering if the OP was confirmed for Traditional for sure or didn't specify which option he wanted in the first place. Have heard a few people who thought they were confirmed for traditional, found anytime listed on their card. I think if Princess, as one poster stated on page 1, is switching passengers to anytime just to see if they stick with it, then that goes against the "personal choice" concept. It's not your personal choice if you're being stuck with an option you don't want.

2- Princess is money hungry. Very little shaded areas unless you want to pay $20 for the "serenity spa", a dedicated part of the shape totally shaded. What a ripoff! So I got to the Neptune pool around 7:15AM

on the days at sea and put our blankets down on the few shaded lounges that were available. The shaded lounges fills up first very rapidly.

Is the OP putting down a blanket with the idea of "reserving" a lounge? If so, that is chair hogging. Unless you are then plopping down on top of that blanket, or else, taking a dip in the pool and then plopping down on that blanket within 30 minutes, you are being inconsiderate. And going against the rules.

6- Disembarkatation- No, you don't need express checkout. I was off the ship at 9:00AM after picking up my luggage that the ship delivered down to the terminal. Originally I was scheduled to get off the ship at 9:40PM but I went to the Pursur's office and pleaded to be let off the ship earlier, so I was moved up.

I live in New Jersey and was home around 11:00AM.

Here's another pet peeve of mine (besides chair hogging): if you're not trying to catch a flight that morning, don't plead to get off the ship early just so you can get home before noon. There are passengers who NEED to catch a flight. You don't need to drive home early. On our last cruise, we waited until our color was called even though I had scheduled a car service to pick us up about 10 am for the hour drive home. About 10am, I called the office of the service and said we obviously are still waiting our turn. And the operator told us, no problem, just call back when off the ship.

Not into the casino and don't drink coffee, so I can't address those issues.

Very upset at the Princess theater shows for having canned music and lip singing. Again, wanting to save money, you cut back on the use of your musicians.

What body orifice did you expect them to sing from???
