infohunter Posted July 7, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2007 The following was sent as an excel spreadsheet which I can' reproduce here. So I'll do my best in formating things so it can be read. Quendryth Posted July 7, 2007 #6 Share Posted July 7, 2007 I didn't even know you could buy liquor for your cabin! It is a lot easier to order in advance & not worry about it being confiscated at the port! do you order thru your TA or on line? I know it is easy on Celebrity to order from the Captain's Club but they never have what you want! always have to order the next highest price available! Right! Thanks for any info on this. It is greatly appreciated Faith:D
Krazy Kruizers Posted July 7, 2007 #7 Share Posted July 7, 2007 The bottles are 1 liters. We always call Ship Services at 1 - 800 - 541 - 1576. Then I take a copy of our credit card as proof we bought something. You can also call room service when you get on the ship and order a bottle that way. Suitegurl Posted July 7, 2007 #8 Share Posted July 7, 2007 We have ordered bottles through ship services to be in our room "as gifts" in the past. We like to have a drink in the cabin while getting ready for dinner and sometimes at the end of the evening on the balcony or while enjoying a meal from room service. We still enjoy having a cocktail at the various locations throughout the ship, but if you want to have something in your cabin...this is definately the way to go. No worries about trying to smuggle on board! Just order and enjoy....:D
Welove2cruise2 Posted July 7, 2007 #9 Share Posted July 7, 2007 I read here on the boards that it was possible to order a bar setup for your stateroom, but this is the first time I've seen a comprehensive list -- thanks! This thread is ANOTHER reason (along with the discussion on "as you wish" dining, which at least now is "stuck" at the top of the board) why I wish this board would have a FAQ thread with a sticky at the top. infohunter Posted July 9, 2007 Author #11 Share Posted July 9, 2007 Thanks KK for your help. I have one other question - which price do I use? Faith Each line item has three prices. They are the Onboard Sales Price (BSC NOT included), Onboard World Cruise (BSC NOT included), Gift Order Price (includes 15% service charge). So based on what they sent me.... if you are onboard and it isn't a world cruise then use the first pricing. Of course I haven't yet cruised on HAL so just going by what I was sent. GadgetGod Posted July 9, 2007 #12 Share Posted July 9, 2007 What does HAL have against bourbon drinkers? 10 vodkas and only one bourbon (and a low end one at that). I guess it is lucky that one of my favorites comes in what looks like a wine bottle, as I do not think I can stomach Jim Beam for 16 days.
Krazy Kruizers Posted July 9, 2007 #13 Share Posted July 9, 2007 When ordering once on the ship, the price is the first red one and then the 15% gratuity is added on. If ordering on line or through Ship Services, they quote you the third price which has the 15% gratuity already added into it.
Krazy Kruizers Posted July 9, 2007 #14 Share Posted July 9, 2007 GadgetGod You can always go to any bar once on the ship and ask what a bottle of your favorite bourbon would cost.
GadgetGod Posted July 9, 2007 #15 Share Posted July 9, 2007 thanks, that is great to know. That is the first I have heard of that. is it priced at similar levels as the above pricing? The last thing I want to do is to have to pack a bottle in my luggage, but jim beam is a step above "rock gut" to me.

Sunshine91 Posted July 10, 2007 #18 Share Posted July 10, 2007 I KNEW I read here on CC that folks could have a bar set-up in the cabins, but couldn't figure out how. Ahhhh, you go to a bar to buy one or order from room service. :) If you buy in the shops, it'll be held for you. My folks just returned from the Volendam in Alaska & I had sent them a bottle of Absolut as a gift. I was charged the $32 price when I called Ship Services. Mom said they went to the bars to get garnishes like olives & lemons. :D

WillieF Posted July 11, 2007 #20 Share Posted July 11, 2007 That's good to know! I also promised to report back on sizing.... From my latest email from HAL Ship Services .... They are 1 Litre. Thank you 'infohunter' - that's just what I thought. Don't know which cabin you are in but if you have a cupboard with glass shelves - DON'T STORE BOTTLES THERE! Last time on board we had a bit of 'rockan'roll one day and thought nothing of it. Back in the cabin getting ready for dinner, DH opened the cupboard - out flew the bottles - both cracked and necks broken  spilling a fair quantity before we caught them. Ah well! what can you do? Just at that moment our Steward arrived - took in the scene at a glance and was back in minutes with yards of cheese cloth and 2 containers. Yes, we strained what was salvaged - guess we each lost about 4 drinks. Did we tip him - you bet we did!!!!!!!:D
