drinking question....not what you think!

Recommended Posts

I am throwing my FIL a birthday bash two weeks before the cruising celebration, pretty much for the folks not going on the cruise. Anyhow, the theme of the party is cruising/island style. I was wondering if anyone had any drink mixes (adult) that I could make in a large vat? I was going to do a Mango Tango, but that's frozen, and I don't want to run a blender. So any RC drinks that are easy, yummy, and Caribbean? Thanks!

Go to drinknation.com and search for Hawaii Mai Tai - They're fantastic.. The recipe makes a gallon+ (the official recipe won't use up all the juices you buy, so I usually make a little extra to use them up - just work with the proportions of the recipe and it works out)

I usually serve it with the juices and the alcohol in different pitchers, because I've found that some people will avoid "punch" at a party because they fear that it will have too much alcohol in it.

Go to, Allrecipes.com I just made a Hurricane there that was out of this world. Bahama Mama's are easy and you can do those in a vat, as well. You will have to translate the amounts for a vat.

Dark Rum 1 oz

Coconut Rum 1 oz

Pineapple Juice To fill glass (about 12 oz)

Grenadine, just a splash for color.

1 part coconut rum (Malibu)

1 part melon liqueur (Midori)

2 parts pinapple juice

2 parts cranberry juice

This is one of my DHs faves. The color is kinda funky, but is really tasty. He really likes the summer frozen variation also.

Variation:

substitute pineapple juice for fresh pineapple and add ice and blend. (If you freeze the pineapple before making, you use less ice and therefore water it down less.)

  • 2 weeks later...

My BF brought home Mango rum from her cruise for both of us. She is having a party next week and asked me to come up with a drink using the mango rum. I threw some stuff together and my DH & FIL loved it.

Fill a rocks glass with ice. Then add...

1 oz mango rum

1 oz coconut rum

fill remainder of glass with pineapple/orange juice
