How many cruises do you have to take with carnival to become platinum? are there different levels under platinum, or just platinum. I am going on my first carnival cruise in march, but will cruise more than once a year, if we like it. :D

Here ya go:

First Carnival cruise: Red/white/blue Sail & Sign card. "Welcome to Carnival!"

Second through ninth cruises: Gold S&S card. "Welcome back to Carnival!" Past guest party on cruises of five nights or longer, and a ship's lapel pin.

Tenth and future cruises: Platinum S&S card. LOTS of nice perks. VIP boarding, chocolates delivered to cabin, your preference of dining assignment, comp laundry service, personalized stationery, and others I can't remember. It's NICE to be Platinum!:)

The "perk" I really like being Platinum is the free laundry especially on the longer European cruises and priority boarding. Using the laundromat on the ship can be a pain and using the laundry a few times can be a bit expensive!! With the free laundry service, a person doesn't have to pack so many things and has more room in the suitcase to bring back "goodies" from the cruise!! I wish that Carnival would give Platinum members chocolate covered strawberries instead of the snack plate that they do provide for your cabin. Once, though, I got a nice fruit basket--couldn't eat it all myself so shared it with my neighbors next door. That is one way to meet the people in the cabin next to you!!
