Is it ok to disembark?

Just wondering - is it ok to board the ship (Golden Aug 29 out of San Juan), get situated in the room, and then disembark again to wander around and maybe do a bit of shopping at the port? I'm thinking we might want to purchase some soft drinks and beer. Would we have to go through the same lines again to re-board the ship?

Yes you can disembark without any difficulty. After you have gotten your cruise card at embarkation it is easy to pop on and off the ship. There is a duty free shop right there on the dock.

There is a duty free shop right at the ship but any other wandering around or shopping will require a cab. It is too far to walk to OSJ.
