Previous Dawn cruisers-needed/missed items

I was just wondering if as a Dawn "cruiser" that you could tell me what five items you were happy that you brought with you or five items that you wished you brought with you (Other than clothes or money). I'm on the August 11 cruise and just want to make sure I have all the necessities that I need/should have.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions in advance.

Did anyone need any bug spray when they were on excursions?

Diane

If you go to Great Stirrup cay ... take bug spray.

Read the descriptions of your excursions elsewhere... they will indicate where bug spray is needed or suggested.

One other item that can come in handy in your cabin is a power strip with six outlets.

1 A cooler for GSC and we brought it to Horseshoe bay too

2 Water bottles and soda to fill the cooler:)

3 A flat sheet Brought it to Horseshoe bay it was great I was going to toss it but the people next to us asked it they could have it.

4 Towels so glad I did looks like NCLs but wasnt and someone took it so saved me $25.

5 Packs of hand wipes the Alcohol stuff they spray really makes your hands dry.

If you have Binoculars bring them. I did bring bug spray but didnt need it guess it was a good day bug free:)

We brought a lot of chocolate for the room M&Ms snickers pop tarts stuff like that and told the room Stewards they can take some they loved that and even the guy who had to fixed our tv he had a snickers or two:):)

Along with the bug spray bring good sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. Comfortable walking shoes are important along with one of those "wallets on a string" you can wear around your neck to hold your card key and identification along with your money when you go ashore.

1) Extra bottle of sunscreen! The Bahama/Bermuda sun is a lot different than the sun at home.

2) Lots of $1 bills. For tips and stuff. Easy to access in our safe, and we didn't have to worry about going for change.

3)Water shoes! If you're going to the Great Stirrup Cay - it's a MUST! We couldn't have survived in the water without them. Lots of rocks under that beautiful sand.

4)Collapsable laundry hamper. Even though we had access to the laundry service, it was awesome having this mesh basket. We threw our dirty clothes in there, and at the end of the week, we put all of it in one suitcase. This makes for easy unpacking and sorting when you get home. It also makes a big difference when trying to keep your cabin tidy!

5)forget the bugspray...BUGSPRAY WIPES! This will help you save space, and not have to worry about leaks and stuff. Throw a few in your much needed beach bag, and you're all set.

Hope this was helpful to you.

We loved the Dawn! Enjoy!:D

I love "wrinkle release" spray. I use it when I unpack and hang everything up. Then no ironing, steaming or what ever. Also, I put some laundry powder in a zip lock. The washers & dryers are free but $1 for a tiny box of Tide. We like to do a load or two mid cruise.

We also use back packs for boarding with all meds etc. in them. Then we use one of the backpacks on excursions etc. (take turns). Alot easier to deal with then bags, purses etc. and we keep extra sun screen, tiny hand sanitizer, extra bug spray, and water bottle in it when off the ship.

Have a great time.

I had to laugh when thinking about how a ziploc bag full of a white powder (laundry detergent) might look when a TSA employee opens up your bag to inspect it :D :D

This hamper was the best invention. I now bring the double one and it takes up no room in the suitcase:)

We learned after our first cruise... we always pack an inexpensive power strip and extension cord. there is generally only one or two electrical sockets in the cabin... I need electric near the bed for medical equipment, but it has also come in handy for plugging in chargers for cameras and cell phones.

Hey NY! Yes, we went to the left at GSC. My feet weren't taking any chances! :) It would be just my luck to rip my toe open on a rock or something, and miss lots of fun on the trip.

I bet we have pics of you! We took tons of them at the GSC, and we were on the same cruise. Hubby and I may have seen you in the Casino... :) Based on your user name, and the fact that we spent lots of time in the casino, ya never know! I saw a lot of the same faces in there on a daily basis.

Horseshow bay is my favorite beach in the entire world! Funny. I didn't need water shoes there. Just lots of Coppertone!

Take care,

Erin and Fred

one thing i am going to bring next time is the crystal light ( shake your bottle packets) they are small and if you have one water bottle for each of you, you can just keep refilling it with water and add a packet of what ever you want.
